Question: In purchasing a DSLR, do I need to buy a Wireless Remote and a Battery Grip/Vertical Shutter too?
I was originally going to purchase just the body and the lens but
these two items popped up; the wireless remote and a battery grip/vertical shutter.Are these two necessary for using a DSLR?
And yes, I do know the function of these two items.
However, I wasn't sure if I should purchase 'em or not.
Therefore, any suggestions on why or why not?Thank you!
Answer: _Need_ to? No. I can see the use for the wireless remote already, and it will be thrown onto my next Amazon order ( I think there's a third-party one that's only $10). If you plan on low-light/night time/self-portraits, then definitely get this!
The battery grip would be good if you are planning on taking the camera out with you for really long days, or a longer weekend trip with nowhere to charge the camera. My XSi battery lasts a long time though, I've shot hundreds of photos in a day before, and it only was down by about half. The vertical shutter...eh...a luxury that I currently can't imagine actually needing that often. I would wait for the battery grip.

Answer: Yes, this jack will work with the D3000, and with the D40, D40x, and D60 cameras. BTW, here taking the same for a better price! Read reviews and find users who have successfully used their cameras on D3000. There are some problems with the way implimented in which the vertical shutter button, but in the end, the outlet is working very well.
