Question: A cheap DSLR tripod over 6ft tall?

I’m looking for a taller tripod that can extend to 6ft or taller but that also doesnt break the bank?

Answer: That is actually a tough question. When you get into tripods that have that kind of height, they typically are NOT cheap, at least when new. I suggest you begin searching Ebay or Craigslist. I bought a Manfrotto from Ebay that cost several hundred dollars new, but I seem to recall I only paid about $50 for it. It extends VERY high, close to 8 feet I would say, and is very strong.

A real problem though with this type of tripod is not so much breaking the bank as it is breaking your BACK! These things are HEAVY, BIG TIME HEAVY. If you are planning on using it only in a studio environment, then the weight is no issue, but if you have plans to carry it around, forget it, unless you have a Mongo for an assistant, lol!

So, I suggest you buy used. KEH is another good source for quality used items.

You CAN find what you are looking for, but it is going to take a little digging.

want to start shooting something other than people. and I have an umbrella or a tripod or external flash or whatever my parents gave me Photoshop CS4 Extended, but I have no idea how uses, so I use picnik I really want to progress with photography so please give me some advice and criticism:)

Answer: Considering you just started, we must give credit to the auto-everything to do a good job with exposure. You are doing a decent job with setting things up for the shot, too. It 's time that many of those who are not seeing are just as good as those we are seeing. I would not think that the camera you are entitled to 2% of the time and have no idea why next in which you are responsible for visually (What is now) and technically. You can not always rely on obtaining all automatic.
