Question: Inexpensive Bakersfield wedding venues?
I am planning my wedding in Bakersfield for this coming April. I know it's soon but I need a place to have the ceremony and reception. AND it needs to be inexpensive. We are on a strict budget and I desperately want somewhere that has great photo opportunities and is beautiful on its own without a lot of decorations.
Answer: My favorite venue so far is at the Montgomery World Plaza, their halls are so beautiful, but expensive :S
Hodels offers a really good deal for the venue, food, etc. (at about $24 per person).
I called a park, which has a hall that you can use and it was about $700, the down part is that you have to give it up by 10pm (too early for me). But you could have the ceremony in the park and the reception in their hall.
The cheapest one that I've found so far is the Society for Disabled Children at $600, I haven't seen the place, but that's the best price I've found so far.
If you find anything else let me know hehe

Question: Does anyone know of any place in San Diego, where you can make a nice wedding album?I was married a few months and I want to make a beautiful professional wedding album with all photos from the wedding. I do not want an album with the photos basically the pages where the photograph inserted is straight.
Answer: Just about every photographer would be able to do this for you if you gave them the evidence. They all work with the photography shops that do all the time. There is a list of wedding photographers in San Diego here: http://www.eventective.com/USA/California/San+Diego/Photographers.html Also ... You can probably do even with Shutterfly. You take the pictures, and configure what you want, and they will send you the "Photo Book" in the mail. http://www.shutterfly.com/shop/product_c18000/Photo_Books But a thought ... why not book a video? You can play music, photos, and hide, etc. and a few DVDs for You to share with people. You can find some from those in http://www.eventective.com as well. Good luck. I would check in the merits Shutterfly. It would probably be your least expensive option and could still look pretty nice. percyrob

Question: speech about photography...?
i have a speech due tomorrow, and we have to speak about the different levels of something, so i chose photography.
im not sure how to start it?
i know that i would somehow include some high schools offer photography classes, then if you want to pursue a career in it you can go on to major in it in college. after college, there are many ways to advance in photography. (list different types of photography: fashion, wildlife, crime scene, underwater, sports, nature, wedding) then i might talk a little about different types of cameras.
Dslr- digital single lens reflex, exchange lenses- serious amateurs to professionals, start from about $500- thousands of dollars. Lenses $200- more than $1000
point and shoot- ???
any other types of cameras to focus on? and what comes before high school classes? sorry if this is confusing! my speech has to be at least 3 minutes, which i think will be easy since there's so much to cover in photography!
Answer: You are right! There is so much to talk about with photography! Why don't you put in a little bit about Annie Leibovitz to make reference to someone reaching the pinnacle of success in photography? She is a great example of somebody reaching the heights of success.
You could also talk about the Digital photography revolution. And how just in 20 years or so, or less, digital photography has become the mainstream option for amateur photographers everywhere, and now professional photographers and everyone in between.
You could say how digital photography has made it even easier for amateur photographers to learn photography simply because they can view their photos seconds after they take the picture. This accelerates learning in a comfortable and easy manner.
There are two ways to learn digital photography. Number one; formally or academically. Meaning you can go to college, or do it at school. Number two; you can be self-taught. As I am. I am actually a professional digital photographer, and a photography teacher. It takes a little bit longer to be self-taught but you still can reach successful heights.
I wish you success in your speech, and best of luck in your photography. If you need a little more help I don't mind answering any questions you have.

Question: Canon 7D need help choosing a lens!!!?
Okay so i took the plunge and splashed out on the 7D, but i need some help on deciding in a len/lenses any idea?? i do a lot of wedding photography, and i was using a super-zoom camera for the past 2 years so im used to a lens that can zoom a lot so i was thinking of the 18-135mm lens (yes i know this lens can come as part of the kit however there was a body only offer which worked out cheaper than buying the kit) im also tempted by the 50mm prime lens with 1.4f, but i want your idea? i kinda spent all my money on the camera, and i know people say why buy an expensive camera to put a shitty lens on it....well i have no choice right now, maybe u can reccomend a shitty lens which aint half bad, any advice will be welcome, also any advise on other 'things' i may need since this is my first dslr and im knew to all this.
Answer: I use and recommend the Canon 28-200. It's quick, sharp and accurate. Granted it doesn't have the low f/stop of the 17-55 but it does an excellent job of focus. I do all the exposure stuff myself so the
focus of this lens really impresses me.
