Question: size of photo on SLR camera?

Okay so as I was editing a photo i took with my canon t1i on picnik, it said this photo was very big and picnik would work better if we made it smaller. So i let it, and it didnt change the apperance, but just the digital size im guessing? I dont know much about this. But i think it has something to do with the fact when I ordered several prints from snapfish, they came in looking a little on the pixely/blurry side, not near as clear and beautiful as on the computer. So on my camera i know you can change the settings on what size the photos are, i think..

please help,
explain?
is that what happened with my snapfish photos?

thanks !

Answer: Your camera's manual should tell you how to change the resolution of your pictures.

When you let Picnik resize your photo, it got rid of some of the data and made the photo smaller. For example, I just uploaded a picture to Picnik. My Nikon D90 recorded it as a large JPEG measuring 4288x2848 pixels. Picnik thinks that's pretty big. It wants me to resize my picture to 2000x1328 pixels. If I do that, the file I end up with will be less than half the size of the original. It would still be large enough to make a good quality 4x6 print, but it would be a hair too small for an optimum quality 5x7 print. Here's a page that explains image file sizes and print sizes in more detail: http://photography.about.com/od/developingandprinting/ss/howbigcaniprintmyphotos.htm

However, if Snapfish didn't give you the little red triangle icon next to your print sizes, the problem probably wasn't with the resolution of your uploaded photo. It's possible that your photo was a little pixellated or blurry, but you didn't notice because you were not looking at the full sized version of the photograph. Blemishes often disappear when you view a file at only a fraction of its actual size.

You could always try to re-edit the picture without allowing Picnik to resize it, and have Snapfish reprint it from the new file to see if there is a difference in quality.

use effective dialog - write like people actually talk

Question: What are the really good novels?

I'm looking for good mystery novels that would make me think. It should enable the reader to resolve the matter before the end, but it is hard so you do not know who he is, from the start (it would be good if it hangs over to tell you all the important clues, but should instead do it in a more subtle way that you must be smart to pick up on). The case must be really smart and original, and of course the book must be well written. Suggestions?

Answer: I have not read many novels police, but from the few I have, "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafon is certainly the best. It mixes mystery, romance, fear ... All. The story begins with ten years Sempere, Daniel, whose widowed father takes him to the cemetery of lost books (or something like that. I read in French and was called the Cemetery of forgotten books, so I translated directly) where Daniel has to "adopt" a novel. He chose The Shadow of the Wind, by Julian Carax, and after he finished, he wants to know more about the author A mysterious, but few have heard him. It is essentially a quest to find the story Carax. There are many original, colorful characters of the story, and he mixes humor and nostalgia, love and violence ... An amazing read that I highly recommend.
