Question: where can i find a driver for my lg slim external super multi dvd rewriter?
it was probably six months or so ago that i bought an lg external dvd drive. it worked for a while, then one day my computer stopped recognizing it, and when it did occasionally recognize it, a little help bubble would pop up and say "your device may not work properly." it turns out the driver no longer works on my computer or my parents...so i'm trying to find a way to download the driver so i can actually use my dvd drive again.

Question: LG external DVD rewriter?
I just got an LG 8x slim portable external super multi dvd writer for my Dell mini. I'm trying to install it with the install disc, but for some reason the computer won't let me. I made sure all the cords were plugged in correctly, tried a few different discs, and I tried to run it a few times, but it isn't working.
Answer: You are trying to install from an external drive, which is not installed yet?
Go to Device manager and see if this external drive is shown there. If it's there, right click on it and click Delete to uninstall it. Restart computer. Plug the drive in and see if Windows will install the driver WITHOUT a disk. If Windows installs the driver, THEN you can stick a disk in and install some software from it (there should be some DVD creating software there and other junk.)
If this doesn't work, call LG (you should have free tech support from them) and ask for help.
