Question: Nikon or Canon? (DSLR) … Please see the details?

I hope to buy a good DSLR in the next 6-12 months, and they need some help decide between Canon and Nikon. I recently purchased a Canon Powershot S3 IS to fill the gap, and I like this camera, my first experience with Canon. I have a Nikon N70 SLR that love, and had thought to stay with Nikon, to use my existing lens. It is a Nikkor AF 24-120 zoom, and also have a tele-adapter for it. This will work on the Nikon DSLR's lens? All things considered, what brand, if any, would be a better camera for my uses? I take a lot of shots nature: flowers, trees, insects, animals, more close up to wide angle. Oh … my budget will be $ 900 – $ 1,200 (I hope). Thanks for any advice! Answer: Considering your budget, I'd like to have a Nikon D80 and use the lens 24-120 main objective for a while '. It will result an equivalent of 36-180, so it is ultra-wide or anything, but it is a decent lens. She did not say if your goal was the latest AF-S VR or older non-VR. If is not AF-S, you can exclude the Nikon D40, I had to exclude someone with your experience anyway. I have a D70 and D200, so I can not comment on the D80 of experience, but between the size and feel of the D70s and the sensor and the transformation of the D200, I got an opinion. One of these articles is subtitled, "Psst – want a D200 at half price? "If the D80 came out before I bought my D200, I may have purchased and are quite happy to stick with it. Question: Is there an quick-release ballhead pod accessory/unit that will attach to my old-school camera tripod?

I have an old school tripod that I was given by my father. Rather than buy a brand new tri/monopod, I’d like to see if there is a ballhead accessory that I can buy that will allow me quick-release from my existing pod. Can you provide brand and model number please?

Answer: Pay a visit to www.reallyrightstuff.com . They sell Arca-Swiss compatible equipment, which is the professional standard for tripod quick release fittings.

You can also purchase Bogen-Manfrotto style hexagonal quick release holder and plate for about $30 from B&H Photo or Adorama. Additional QR plates are, as I recall, around $10-15 each. They’re not quite as nicely made as the RRS or Arca-Swiss plates, but they’re quite a bit less expensive.

Question: What would be a great tripod for my camera?

I have a Nikon D200 and only professional video Bogen tripod, which are too heavy around July. Tips for a beautiful tri Bogen with the head? Price? the price is no problem, but less than $ 500 preferred.
