I am a student and I just built my first system ever more PCs for personal use such as editing video (HEAVY) typing in Word, Internet, email, upload digital video cam, loads of storage and loads of pictures from photo albums (really huge). I came with the following specifications: MSI 975X Platinum Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 GHz 1 GB RAM SAMSUNG HD SERIAL 500GB LITEON DVD ± RW Windows XP Home Service Pack 2 Thermaltake case HIPER Tsunami Silent PSU ATX 350 watts 18dB Internal 12 in 1 Card Reader Flashmedia / writer What are your views on this spec? Will be the motherboard, processor, RAM and graphics card work well together? I am using win xp home and win xp pro? Why? will use frezer Arctic Cooling 64 Pro?

Answer: Well now you have some parts awesome. What kind of ram are you using? I do not fiderei a hard Liteon. That shit is going to fail on you and you are going to be pissed. Trust me on this one. I owned a couple of them. I know it's good price for the technology, but pay a little 'more and get more. I would also suggest a two disk drives with a capacity very fast read only. That 975X is a sweet setup. The nice thing is that you can run two graphics cards at once. However, if you plan to run an end High Intel Core 2 Duo, as you are, you should upgrade your power supply something that is ATX2.0 compatible and has a connector ESP12V. MSI 975X Platinum will run on large power older units, but are not designed to handle the power requirements of modern machines. Compatible power supply is definitely necessary if you plan to run a dual video card configuration. I would not go with a single 500GB hard if he wants to devote to video editing. I like the fact that the unit is a hard number. However, you must use two separate drives. One for video editing, music and images. Use another harddrive Window, personal files, applications, etc. Just buy a new Samsung 500GB. You could even put the disks in a RAID configuration, then the system would always be the backup. Looks like you will need a graphics card. Remember that you want to do video editing amazing. Then, you should buy an amazing graphics card.
