Question: Taking underwater pictures?

Hey everyone! I was interested in taking underwater pictures but I don’t think my camera is waterproof [sony cybershot]. I don’t want a disposable and I don’t want to purchase a new digital or expensive casing. I know it’s super cheap but will a sturdy see-through bag or two work?

Answer: I wouldn’t take the risk. Underwater you have a lot of issues that you don’t normally have to contend with such as water pressure. There are a few bags designed for this purpose and would be better than using random ones, but sometimes they will also make the photos blurry. Underwater cameras (and necessary lighting) get expensive quickly, but there are a handful of disposable cameras that are designed to go underwater that I’ve used fairly successfully in the past. Then, if you find you are taking enough photos and are definitely going to continue the skill, then you can invest in some quality equipment.

Question: Light meter on the camera?

So I took my Minolta 35 mm SLR camera XG7 to the pool today and did some underwater photos. apparently, the bag was not 100% waterproof raincoat and a bit 'of water got inside the bag. I think a little 'taken into camera. the shutter snaps, I armed, but nothing happened. that had not happened before, just started about five minutes ago. the exposure does not work either. I took the film off after charging to see if there was water and there were a couple of drops … did I just break my camera or it will be ok, once inside the camera dries out? I have to take place in a camera or can I fix it myself? and how much it will cost if I take a few camera instead? I do not see why it would be broken, it was just a bit 'of water … has been soaked or anything.

Answer: <> Dude, electricity and water do not mix. The water could easily short-circuit the camera and burned a component. See the answers in another thread was started.
