Answer: The last picture listed above is mine! Im glad that you like it.

I will tell you how I made it….

1) I had a decent shot of that bookstore, but wanted to give it a more retro feel. So I cropped it to a square.

2) I wanted to give it a shallow depth of field so, I masked of the areas that I wanted to be out of focus…

…and applied a lens blur using the layer mask as the source. then deleted the mask.

3) I created a new layer group for my adjustment layers.
-1st adjustment layer is a curves layer to give it a little more contrast…

http://www.admiller.com/linked/tutorial/bookstore/curves01.jpg

-2nd adjustment layer bumps up the blue & green curves and then an overall curve to blow out the highlights…

http://www.admiller.com/linked/tutorial/bookstore/curves02.jpg

-3rd adjustment layer is a levels adjustment where I selectively adjusted the outputs of each different color giving it a washed out yellow look…
-4th adjustment layer brings the saturation of the reds and yellows down a bit.

4) Created a new layer filled with beige, applied Texture:Grain – contrasty, then applied a gaussian blur. Set the layer as Multiply.

http://www.admiller.com/linked/tutorial/bookstore/bookstore05.jpg

5) I added a little vignetting.

http://www.admiller.com/linked/tutorial/bookstore/bookstore06.jpg

6) And lastly I add a goldenrod colored solid color layer. Set layer blending mode to multiply and set the opacity to 15%

and thats how I got this image!

Q: Photography question?

I do not know much about photography and lighting, so I'm following the instructions On this site http://www.strobist.blogspot.com/2006/07/how-to-diy-10-macro-photo-studio.html pictures of the light box displays strips of black cardboard covering the 4 corners of each side, with white embedding of tissue in the center. My question is how to help the image and black strips are nessasity?

Answer: The black strips are just the white tape holding the paper under the box, also the designer for the interior uses black band behind white paper in the next picture, possibly less bright, ..

Question: What color bag?

I will be graduating from law school in a month and I'm deciding on a wallet from Coach. As I do not pretend to be a fashion guru hope everyone can answer a question for me. As an attorney who plans to use mostly navy, black and gray suits. Therefore, it is more likely to wear black shoes and a black belt. But I like the look of brown leather wallets than me the black leather. Is a fashion faux pas of carrying a brown briefcase, if they're not wearing brown shoes and earth tones suit?

Answer: It would be very hard to escape with a brown briefcase. If you could go to the darkest brown possible, it would be nice.
