Question: Can any monopod be compatible with any head?
I know this might sound a little silly, but I'm pretty confused right now. I have a Giottos head (link below) and I have a Slik tripod. I'm getting a monopod (link below), but I need to know if they are compatible with one another. If not, what head is?

Answer: should be, if not its a easy fix, i had to do it with a head and tripod that had different size threads,
- if they are different there are adaptor type things that screw both together

Question: Tripod for shooting downward, I need to take some pictures of my art pieces?
I have some rather large are pieces that I want to take pictures of. The biggest ones being about 18 by 24 inches and 12 by 48 inches. I just digital copies that I can save, so even when I sell them I still can show them to others easily. I've already tried to go to Kinko's but since most are on odd things, like one pieces is painted on an old shelf, or just too large, I was unable to get copies from them.
The problem I have with the photograph is that I can not shoot directly downwards, it's always at an angle and it always ruins the piece. So does anybody have an idea where I can buy a tripod that faces downward at a reasonable price? If not in San Antonio, on the internet?
I've already thought about buying a gorrillapod but I just wanted to be sure of my options.Answer: You are now experiencing that this is some of the most difficult photography to do, and do it well. Typically, you use a tripod that has a reversible center column so you can mount the camera under the tripod. But you can then have problems with the piece being too large to fit within the confines of the tripod legs. Then there is yet another problem... light. Any overhead light will then be blocked by the camera. Any light from the side will cast shadow. You need well defused light from at least two sides on the art piece. If the piece is very small, you then have problems with not being able to get light to it at all due to the camera having to be very close and blocking out the light. A ring light around the lens itself then becomes necessary.
I tend to agree most with the answer given by Edwin. Don't shoot the pieces on the floor. Either mount them to a wall, or lean them against something. As he said though, you MUST be sure your camera angle and art piece angle match, or you will have distortion in the photo. But this makes lighting much easier and more effective rather than trying to take a photo of the piece(s) on the floor.
I have done this type of photography many times. I shoot artistic boards that are from a local college interior design class. These boards are often over 3 feet wide and 2 or 3 feet high. I have found the best thing to use is an artists stand, such as used to mount a canvas for painting. You can get these at hobby or art supply stores. This lets you get the piece up off the floor, and you can buy stands that have methods to secure the piece at both the top and bottom. Highly recommended over trying to do it with the tripod aiming the camera down to the floor method.

Question: Canon Accessories T2i!?I'm getting a Canon T2i. His THT kit comes with the 18-55 lens with it. (By the way, is that the lens good, nothing special? I usually make videos and take pictures. How well do you slow qualification) are also getting a 72-inch tripod. What kind of memory card? I want a 32 Gb, but their different "classes" I'm not usre what it is. How a Class 6 32 GB? It could also recommend a good carrying case and cleaning kit. Nothing that I have with it? Thanks! Best answer!
Answer: I have the Canon 1000D and 18-55. It 's a good goal, not the larger but very good. It 's a great starter lens especially if you have no experience with the camera ... Do you have experience? The goal should be good for both photos and video. I never buy a 4 GB card as well as these devices fail to love. If it does you have lost a bit 'of money compared to 4 GB. The best advice, that many of us regulars, buy 3 or 4 cards 4GB, rather than one big one. Bag: I use the Tamrac brand. You can find them on Google. Mine is excellent. Contains two Slr Cameras, lenses and lots of other gadgets. Cleaning kit. You really do not need a cleaning kit. It takes a microfiber lens cleaning cloth. I always brush a large woman in it is a little trick of the plastic container. And 'soft and excellent guide to dust off after a shot. Good luck. Read the book from top to bottom and learn everything you can about your camera. Canon is an excellent choice.
