Question: Where can I find a hot shoe extension to mount a microphone & light on a camcorder?

I have a Sony VX2100 which has one hot shoe mount and no side mount for shotgun mics like other similar models. I’m looking for an adapter of some sort that will allow me to mount both my microphone and light at the same time. I DO NOT want the one used for many non-video cameras that mounts under the camera in the tripod hole that also has an L shaped handle. Thanks
thank you sir, but the mic on the camera in that picture is the onboard stero mic, not an additional Shotgun or etc.

Question: Video Blog Camera, for a cooking blog?

I am looking into getting a video camera dedicated for use during my cooking blog. I want something that has a tripod mount, a decent microphone (maybe even a mic input or hot shoe), works well with MACs and shoots in HD.

As I said it is for a cooking blog and I will typically be shooting indoors. I have some color balanced continuous lighting to boost the light indoors, but I would like a camera that shoots well indoors in general.

Also, I think I would like to stay within a budget of under $500, hopefully under $400 and preferably under $300.

What cameras would meet this criteria?

Check out the Kodak Zi8. It’s HD, runs about $70 at Amazon, and has a tripod mount. (It also has an audio input, so, depending on your setup, you could easily use a small Shure wireless microphone, or, if you have some additional cash, step up to a better one.)

Ooh! And it’s Mac compatable!

Double-Ooh! Because they’re so cheap, you could always buy 3 and have a nice 3 camera shoot! Now how’s THAT for professional?!
