I bought the velbon in store, and loved it. But then I discovered the Nikon one and thought it might be better quality or “fit” Nikon better??!?!?

Answer: Both the Tripods are equally good.

I find Nikon one a little smaller and less heavy to carry. However, Velbon one seems more sturdy to hold big cameras (like D5000).

Velbon is known for its tripods and has been making them since last few decades. If you go by brand, Velbon is much better than Nikon when tripods are concerned.

Answer: There is a standard tripod mount, it looks like a little screw hole about 1/4″ wide. If you have that, then yes. If you aren’t sure, bring the camera to a photo store (or Walmart) and try out any tripod.

Question: Tripod Prosumer Video System?

I'm looking for a prosumer / professional system stand (legs and head) and was wondering what you recommend. I have a budget of about $ 200, though a bit 'more is ok. Answer: As the camera? I tripod – and I like … It 's a bit on the heavy side, but it works fine with my HDR-FX1. Also, when I took it, I had remove the head to tighten a few screws hexagon socket (otherwise the pan was loose for about 5 degrees, so it would be smooth). I contacted the customer B & H service, which directed me to the Product Manager, Tiffen, simple instructions – 8 minutes later – and poof, fixed. Not a big deal. The pneumatic lift is cool … Take consider getting a bhphotovideo. I did … Search for "ProVista 7518. It comes with wheels and trolley case. The dolly wheels are hard-rubber so that the surface on which they are used must be flat and free of debris … and can be used with almost any tripod. It comes with a metal plate with quick release. Consider adding one more to your order. I lose things from time to time. Better to have it and need not and do not need it. The double handle set-up is interesting. If the camera is can use a cast, you will find that the control cable of the camera handy. +++++'ll Be fine with the V1U. As I said, it works fine with my FX1 (brother the HVR-Z1).
