Question: Will a RF remote flash trigger work with a dedicated flash?

Have been browsing the net for new flashes in attempt to get the highest guide number at the lowest cost naturally… Some how I’m finding some dedicated flash units with higher guide numbers that are actually cheaper than nondedicated flash units. Just looking for verification that a dedicated flash unit will work for me. Thank you.

Answer: If you are looking for a flash for your DSLR, then the dedicated flash is the ONLY flash that will work with all the features of the flash and your camera.

Plus, Nikon and Canon cameras cannot take high trigger voltages that are found on most non-dedicated flash units.

The 300v plus will fry a camera designed to use a 6v or 12v trigger voltage.

Nikon dedicated flash units will for instance work remotely even it the flash is not in the line of sight of the camera .. this is because it is triggered by a radio control.

Question: problems using a trigger wirless flash Nikon SB-600?

so I just bought the PT-04 NC II iShoot trigger flash for the wirless my Nikon D40 and SB-600. The kit comes with a receiver, a transmitter and a PC Sync cable. My D40 does have a power cable to use the PC so i cannot. But here's my problem. I love my camera and flash, I push the shutter button and the LED on both the transmitter and receiver flash, but my Speedlight is not quenched. The only way to get my flash For display and whether to release from reveiver, which loses all capacity TTL. any suggestions? isn't my problem with TTL guess. im just concerned with the fact that the only way to activate the flash is if I do not block the flash on the receiver. generates only if the block of the flash is unlocked

Answer: I seem to have bought some products incompatible. The D40 and SB-600 are excellent products, iShoot is a product not so hot. Most of us who multiple-use external flash units to use the wizard to activate their Pocket iShoot The PT-04 NC II will not connect electronically to the slide of the camera and that's all issue. Of course, as you will discover, flash trigger with direct links to a hot shoe cameras will cost about five times what the PT-04 NC II
