Question: SD Reader in Dell Inspiron 6000D not working.?
i have a dell inspiron 6000d laptop. it has an sd card reader slot. but the windows doesn’t auto recognize it. when i insert an sd card in the slot, it gives out that sound of a new device being inserted. but there is no further action that shows up the device. in the device manager, under the disk drives section there is this mention of “Secure Digital Storage Device” with a yellow exclamation mark. what could be going wrong? could anyone help? thanks.
Answer: Delete the Device when it shows the Yellow flag. Now reboot and hopefully it will reinstall the Driver needed. If that Driver is corrupted it may show Yellow again.
If it does then either your hardware has developed a fault [does it work OK with another SD Card?] or you should obtain the relevant Drivers from the Dell site.
