Question: can a dslr camera still work without a Len?
i will be getting my Nikon d40x soon and i wounder, can i still take pictures without a Len. because i only bought the camera itself and the Len i bought seem to runs a little late in the shipping process.
Answer: Kinda. It will still take pictures, but without something to focus the light, all you'll get are bright/dark patches. In the mean time you could make a pinhole lens or hold a magnifying glass in front of the sensor. A pinhole lens is easy. Got a piece of cardboard and a needle? Okay, put the needle through the piece of cardboard. There. You're done.
Both require some guesswork and will give you truly weird pictures, but it's probably more fun than waiting.
Another excellent place to find Still Camera is on Amazon... They have way more than just books!

Question: digital camcorder / camera, I'm thinking about buying one that is easy to use. What is the price range? And specifically, What should I look? I want to be able to do that you can edit digital photos and get good images too. What is the price, which could to pay (in the U.S.) without getting garbage --- any good online places?
Answer: I bought the Panasonic PV-GS300. It's great. I read a lot of comments on it before I bought it. It was almost all good and I can see why. It's small, lightweight and has a great video. Stabilizing optical image really helps. The video is not great. So far there is no affordable video camera out there that works good in low light. If you will use inside to ensure that there is a lot of light. I do not rely on video cameras for still images. From what I've read that are not the most large. The PV GS300 takes photos at 3.1 MP which is pretty good, but I have not tried it yet. I just pack your camcorder and digital camera. It is also very easy to transferring video from DV tape to DVD so you do not have to keep buying tapes. I would definitely buy it again. Prices range from $ 500 - $ 650. Try to look up on pricegrabber.com and nextag.com. If purchasing online beware. Sometimes it is not worth saving a little money and have to deal with an online store that is going to screw up. If you want to do some online research lines I would recommend cnet.com.
