Question: Sony NEX-VG10 Camcorder questions (with link)?
I'm renting this camera in replace of my last rental (which was a redone camera) I think this camera is doable to work with, and the lens is interchangeable.. So I have a few questions.
What is the best lens to use on this camera to make the picture cinematic?
I want better audio than they offer on the camera itself? I would like to use a shotgun mic If the camera has XLR adapters on it. However, I really don't want to Record the sound separately.
And lastly, is their any jibs that you could mount this camera to?Thanks!

Answer: Hi Tyler:
First, no offense, but I can't believe you are renting a $2,000 consumer (not even "pro-sumer") camcorder to "replace" a $50,000 Red One camera.
If it's budget constraints, I can understand, but hopefully you aren't shooting replacement footage, or expecting to intercut footage from the two and expecting any kind of quality match (either optically or video-wise).
I'd recommend a Sony EX-1 or EX-3, if you want to be taken seriously; but, I'll take a closer look at the NEX's spec regarding audio inputs, and update my Answer.
hope this helps,

Question: Good zoom lens for Sony Nex-3?I have a Sony Nex-3 with the lens that is in the package (I think was the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Zoom me to know that not many Nex-series lenses is available, because the whole "e-mount, A-mount" thing, but I'm ready for the adapter the A-mount lenses to buy. I dont really want to spend more than $ 500 either. Can someone help me? Thanks in advance guys!
Answer: For birds, I think you'd Autofocus, who strangely does not have the A-mount adapter available but you can get away with it. I would for a used Minolta 70-210mm f4 go off eBay, but that's not really the zoom for bird watching than usual 300mm is still a bit short, so that you are perhaps a bit screwed, unless you are willing to splash on the current Sony 70-300mm F4-5.6 G SSM, which I hear is very good for novice wildlife photographer but you're decent light for a to get fast shutter speed to blur the subject and the prevention of Tele to keep blurring.

Question: Camera shutter stuck- how do I fix it?
I bought my camera (which is a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S730) a little less than a year ago, and I didn't buy a warranty.
While I was using it yesterday, it fell and now the shutter lens is stuck about halfway out. I can turn the camera on, but when I do, it just makes an odd whirring noise like the gears are jammed inside, and goes to a black screen with white text that reads: "Turn the camera off and on again."
I can review my past photos, but I can't take new ones. I've tried pulling the lens all the way out and pushing it back in, but it won't budge.
Can anyone offer a solution on how to fix this without paying for a repair? I can't afford it at the moment.
Thank you so much.
Actually, the model of the camera is a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55Answer: woah, sounds so familiar to me, this happened to me day before last, but it was with a film SLR camera, and since it's so old i left it alone, i'm getting a better one soon anyway ( this time it's going to be a digital one ). Back to your problem, i had this happen to my little camera too
, and i couldn't fix, i just left alone. I didn't have any money. I got a new one later, and it's in repair now, i just don't think these little cameras were meant to last :
things you should try:
1) go to your local walmart or wherever you got it from, and ask them if they have any solutions or ways you can fix the camera, i can't tell you anything about sony because i only deal with nikon and canon2), oh, and if you got it from the sony website. just go here and look for the number
