Question: Which digital camera superslim has superb macro function and provides no pixelmasses DSCV1 tarnished as the Sony?

I'm looking for a quality very good and (very) thin digital camera with a very good macro ability. Thin, so that I can always have with me. Currently I have the Sony DSC-V1 (Cybershot 5.0 megapixels). It has a nice Carl Zeiss glass, but the camera is too thick. And the pixels blend into each other, or pixels appear to be artificial, or JPG artifacts are too obvious, I do not really know what it is, but do not really like the pixels. If I shoot a bird or branches, the person may have lines of white pixels around it. I use the most low compression, but do not use TIFF. BTW, I can not even see the difference in quality between the TIFF and JPG. The TIFF, JPG artifacts seem to have too much … Strange. things which are not care about: price, battery life, screen size LCD, the possibilities of cinema, more than 2x zoom, the type of memory. Things like algorithms' optimization images' automatic in-camera are probably a big no-no. Or are the superslim camera is not up to the task, yet?

Answer: I used the Pentax S4, S6 and s5i. They are small enough to fit inside an Altoids tin. They take amazing photos. number is the megapixels. The latest version is A10 (link below), although I have not used this version yet. It is 8MP. There is also a 6-MP which is slightly larger and this is the T10, which has a touch screen on the back. It looks nice, but I have not used that one yet. That link is below as well as the S6. Have fun. Oh, the A10 is slightly bigger than the other cameras, but only slightly.

Answer: Only ‘decent’ one (based on brand and depth rating) I was able to find was an Ikelite unit (http://www.ikelite.com/web_two/sony_h9.html) which btw isn’t inexpensive at $750 but this isn’t an uncommon price if it’s a decent housing.
