I can only think of one reason: alpha particles cannot penetrate body tissue. What’s another reason?

Answer: you said that the alphas were already emitted internally, so the reason that you thought of already is not correct.

typical few-MeV *external* alphas cannot penetrate the external dead layer of our skin called the epidermis. but *internally* emitted alphas are 20x more dangerous than betas or gammas. this is why people take radon gas so seriously (lung cancer).

so, the reasons that i can imagine are
- the half-life of the source is “long” – which would result in too much collateral damage to other organs
- the alpha energy is too large – which is related to the first possibility: too much collateral damage
- the specific radionuclide is toxic. i.e. the damaging *chemical/biological* properties of the radionuclide outweigh the potentially beneficial properties of the alpha radiation that it emits…

Question: What kind of execrcises cards can only do with my upper body?

I need to lose weight (not for the purposes of vanity If im a health risk for diabetes), but I broke my little finger. and must stay off my feet. There are exercises to help me lose weight using my omnly top body?

Answer: Lift very light weights. Representatives of high and low weight are aerobic exercises, while the representatives of low and high weights are anaerobic. I had a similar problem a little 'back, then I'm sorry I can not tell you more. I would advise doing things like leg lifts and squeaks on the floor, so at least you will find an exercise until you're back on your feet again.
