Question: Is the sony cybershot that good?
I asked what camera is best, good images, video and some good features and the majority said the Sony Cybershot, I am just thinking its bad points is some cameras have more features and the memory cards cost more in the long run. I do think the pictures turn out great on it though. What do you think, I am just trying to work out what cameras to get. Canon is also popular, and pentax, panasonic, Fuji, Kodak, Nikon all seem to get ignored, also there is a camera called Ricoh now. This is refering to compact digital so tell me your opinion on it.
Answer: I bought the sony cybershot after much thinking and I am so happy with it! The pictures are great and I love how you can edit them, create slideshows with music, and everything right on the camera. You can upload music to your camera for the slideshows so that's pretty cool too. I used to have a Fuji which I was happy with, but once I got the Sony, I can see why it's more expensive and it's totally worth it. Yes, the memory card costs more but you can often find deals on those or get it online for less. Then again, they also have more memory than a lot of other ones. I have the 1 Gb and there's no way I need that much space.
Another great thing about this camera is that the battery is rechargable and it comes with the charger so you never have to replace the batteries. I hated changing the batteries like every week in my other camera.
There's nothing that I dislike about this camera.
I think the Sony Cybershot is a great camera! Good luck!

Question: My 4GB SD card is only recognized as 2GB?Help. I used my card 4 GB on my Ricoh R5 and he said to format it. I did. but then, when I put it back in my SD reader on my computer only recognized as a 2GB card when I went to format it. How could I do return to a 4GB card it used to be recognized as a 4 GB before. it was only after I put it in the device has changed
Answer: probably a defect. Check the warranty.

Question: I need help figuring out what digital camera to buy.?
I asked before, and got some good answers, but I'm going to revise my question.
I am an amateur photographer being held back by my crappy Ricoh Caplio RR30. Seriously, it sucks.Here is a picture of the nasty little thing:

It's only 3.2 megapixels and 3x optical zoom, not good enough to do what I take pics of. (Which are action shots of running horses and moving vehicles... etc.)
I need an upgrade, wouldn't you agree?
So, I admit I don't know much about the really technical details about cameras, but I am a really fast learner, so I would be able to figure out the camera. I know I want at least 6 megapixels, and something over 8 or 10x optical zoom would be nice. And it needs to have a fast shutter speed and be good at taking action shots.
Now here's the problem. The price-tag. I'm looking for something under $350 or so. I was looking at the Canon S3 IS.
Any other suggestions or ideas? Thnx!
Answer: I consider myself a bit of an amateur photgographer myself and have looked at many makes and models. What I am about to say is my personal opinion only. IF there are people out there who really know their stuff I would like to hear what they think about this question as well.
I think for what you want vs the price tag is a pretty good buy. I am assuming that it is in USD $350? For the specs, I think you will get great shots of moving objects - especially with image stabiliser feature. Personally though, at maximum zoom, I am still not totally convinced about getting the photo real sharp.
No matter what people say and what our collective opinion is here on Y!A, the moment you buy the camera - no matter what it is - there will be a new model released which will make you think "Oh! If only I wait for that one!"

Answer: The Canon. that's all I've ever owned. Once you've got the best, you can not go back. I was forced to use a Nikon in my life, a D50 for a job Boston and I always wanted to go home and get my 30D. Heck, my Powershot would have done better than the D50.
