Question: 35 mm Film Camera: Better; Pentax, Nikon, or Minolta?
I am about to buy a camera after accidentally donating my old ones to charity. I recently moved, and brought only the most important items with me, like books, clothes, and PCs.
I had 2 Nikon N70s and a compact Nikon zoom camera.
I love Nikons, but I'm looking at other brands just for a
change in feeling; I don't know if this is good with cameras or not. On eBay, I'm watching a Minolta Maxxum 3000i, a Canon EOS 300 Rebel, and a Pentax PZ-70. I'm not a pro, I just want decent pictures with options to add more features.
I can always find more N70s for sale, but want different, and Kodak is definitely out for me.Answer: With Film cameras, the body hardly matters, it is the lens that is important.
if you have any Nikon lenses left over fro the move, I would highly suggest sticking with Nikon.
Nikon and Pentax are both great because a 50 year old lens will still work with a brand new camera, so there are lots of options open to you.
In the world of 35mm, I have a pentax k-1000, and I can tell you that pentax made excellent lenses and bodies back in the day. I'm not overly impressed with their digital cameras. my DSLR is a Nikon, and it frustrates me to no end not being able to swap lenses.
You can get adapters to convert Nikon Lenses to a canon mount, but I have never seen any other sort of adapter.

Question: What are the films of higher quality?I currently use OTC film, Kodak standard 200 and 400 and Fuji 200 and 400 standards. I think I'm ready to move on. For me, those films most boring things out and pale colors and their depth of color is not what it could be. I was told to check out the Fuji Velvia Fuji Velvia 50 and 100F. It is supposed to produce the colors that are truer to life than the mass produced cheaper than OTC. Sincerely, I'm using a Minolta Maxxum 7000th and I'm trying to improve my photography. btw, I'm not a pro-photographer, are probably the best term, but I would try to achieve levels deeper colors and clear images without resorting to scanning and post processing. Any advice would be of great help. Thanks I do mostly landscapes. If I have the courage I could direct to my Flickr account so you can all laugh at me;)

Answer: Keep an eye out on craigslist in your area. I have seen this kind of stuff on craigslist on occasion.
www.craigslist.comAlso, you might check if there are any colleges in your area that have a photography or journalism department. They frequently will have a bulletin board with used photography equipment for sale. That's how I got my first complete set of dark room equipment, including an enlarger, for $150.
