Question: Camera shutter stuck- how do I fix it?
I bought my camera (which is a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S730) a little less than a year ago, and I didn't buy a warranty.
While I was using it yesterday, it fell and now the shutter lens is stuck about halfway out. I can turn the camera on, but when I do, it just makes an odd whirring noise like the gears are jammed inside, and goes to a black screen with white text that reads: "Turn the camera off and on again."
I can review my past photos, but I can't take new ones. I've tried pulling the lens all the way out and pushing it back in, but it won't budge.
Can anyone offer a solution on how to fix this without paying for a repair? I can't afford it at the moment.

Actually, the model of the camera is a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55Answer: woah, sounds so familiar to me, this happened to me day before last, but it was with a film SLR camera, and since it's so old i left it alone, i'm getting a better one soon anyway ( this time it's going to be a digital one ). Back to your problem, i had this happen to my little camera too
, and i couldn't fix, i just left alone. I didn't have any money. I got a new one later, and it's in repair now, i just don't think these little cameras were meant to last :
things you should try:
1) go to your local walmart or wherever you got it from, and ask them if they have any solutions or ways you can fix the camera, i can't tell you anything about sony because i only deal with nikon and canon2), oh, and if you got it from the sony website. just go here and look for the number

Question: I broke my camera because it would cost to fix it?I think the gears for the lens is broken. I dropped in the sand. its a Coolpix L15.
Answer: more than $ 100 to fix or buy new thinking

Question: LCD Monitor Repair No Display?
I have a sceptre komodo LCD 19 inch. The power light comes on but there is no display. Anyone knows whats wrong with it? Any clue on why nothing will show? It powers on but no picture.

I have another monitor that hooks up to the computer with no problem but when I try the LCD the power light is solid green but no picture when it is hooked up to the computer and blinking green when it isnt hooked up to it.Hope this gives a better understanding!
Answer: Can you hear your hard drive spin. does your monitor light flicker when you turn off your computer and then flicker and turn solid when you turn your computer on. If it does turn solid then cpu is running and monitor is recieving data. Next check video cable between computer and monitor.Next check their connections. Now lay case on its side open panel. Before touching anything unplug all power cables from outlet. See if video card is seated if it is remove card and replace with a pci video card. You should get something on the screen Replace video card.

Question: How to Repair Canon PowerShot 230 digital camera - the white and purple lines on the screen.?Hello. I have no idea what happened. I charged my batterey and put it in. When the camera is turned all that showed through the screen were white and purple lines that changes according to the amount of light there was. I took a picture and took it like that ... with white and purple. I can not afford a new camera, and costs a lot to repair. Anyone know how to fix it?
Answer: Bad news, good news. The bad news is its CCD image sensor has failed. The good news is that Canon has a counseling service for non-CCD image sensors: A free repair. Even have to pay for shipping both ways! The entire process takes less than a month, and you will not have to buy a new camera. Give them a call at 1-800-828-4040 Monday - Friday - 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Hope that helps!
