Question: Camera Bag Recommendation?

Anyone have any recommendations for camera bags? I just bought a new SLR, so I'm a bit 'short for cash (no pun intended). I need to hold a camera body and 2 lenses, even if the space for a 3 would be too good. Besides this and a pocket for replacement battery / lens covers etc, I do not need any more. Nothing big. So any suggestions? Thank you! Alec something small. So do not full size backpacks. I looked at the bags of those sling and messenger bag style. I want the bag is comfortable and fits what I need, but should not be too big. So really, If you fill those I do not care what style of bag is

Answer: LowePro 100AW. You should post that kind of bag your search of BackBack ie, the shoulder harness, etc. http://www.neocamera.com/feature_camerabags.html

Question: Tips for travelling with an SLR?

Hi, i have a DSLR, and i’m going to Nepal for a month. Since Nepal is not a hugely safe country, and i will be exposing my camera to risks – thieves, rain, being damaged in my pack, etc – does anyone have tips? What should i do when travelling with it? It is a Pentax k200d with an 18-250mm lens, in a camera bag. I will be trekking (Annapurnna) for approximately 10 days, will be spending time in Pokhara, Kathmandhu and other places, and will possibly be volunteering at an orphanage for a week. I am 15, and will be with a group of other young people, with three adults. I’m going in November, which is in winter i believe, but i’m unsure of the weather. I will be taking out insurance on my camera, but dont really want to have to make a claim!
Does anyone have advice? Where should i keep my camera? Are thieves likely to be a problem? What to do with it while trekking? How to protect it from weather, damage etc? And most importantly – how should i carry it? round my neck? in my pack?

Answer: 1. Your camera bag should be good enough.
2. Stick with an adult at all times.

Question: First digital SLR camera – that should get?

I'm really in conflict. I have no idea what brand of camera SLR that I have or that one will be better for me. I've never used or bought one before, but my current camera is not cutting it. I definitely need a good zoom, but also the love of a good camera with a macro setting. I'd love to be able to use the exposure settings for a long time. Live view is nice. I need a camera that can withstand harsh conditions (like getting dropped occasionally, and being outside in most weather conditions). My budget is a bit tight, so anything over $ 1,000 – which is still pushing, but I can make some sacrifices, haha. I seriously considered Sony, Nikon and Canon. Opinions and suggestions reception. Thank you. Best wishes Oh, and I would like to at least 10MP – mainly because I end up blowing most of my photos when I crop and print.

Answer: Check out the offerings from Olympus. Olympus offers the best value in digital SLRs, along with the smallest DSLR and lightest available. For around $ 600 or less you can find a E520, E510, E-420 or E410 with lens for starters. I personally use the E-510. Olympus produce excellent images and have features that others simply refuse to bid for the same price. Two major distinctions are the availability of auto focus on all Olympus cameras Series E lens kit. Nikon and others do not offer that, you need to buy expensive auto focus lenses. Of course, if you do not care about the autofocus, which is a non-issue. The other feature is image stabilization. Olympus offers is in the camera bodies, again without expensive lenses. And contrary to what some say, in the body system is as effective as lens-based systems. During roughly the same money you'd spend on a Nikon D40, you can get a camera with autofocus, is and 10MP. Olympus also designed all of its E-series lenses to be digital from the beginning, while others adapt lenses film. Olympus Zuiko lenses have a reputation for high quality images are produced better and sharper with better color saturation and contrast. In regard to quality, the Olympus is a professional company image and may coincide with any other company out there. Olympus produce professional quality is why professionals like Jay Dickman (Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, photographer) and Mitsuaki Iwago (wildlife photographer who has had his work on the cover of National Geographic) choose them.
