Question: ideas for high-level photography project?I go to an art school very close, where teachers have high expectations for students. We are currently working on our projects high, and incorporating art into our major projects we choose. My main digital photography. But I can not to think of something to do for my project. I was thinking something like that with my photography to show the invisible movement in the community. But I would just like a couple of ideas to see what's out there and what are my options. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Question: What type of skills, training and experience would I need?
To become a Photographer for someone such as National Geographic magazine?
I'm a senior in high school and have become very interested in photography the past few years. I know NNG is a pretty high goal, but what type of training and skills would I need to become a successful photographer?
Answer: There are many things you can do to get yourself ready to be a successful editorial photographer
1) attend a school that will give you all the tools you need to use any camera, anywhere, under any conditions, weather, lighting and social environment.
2) spend at least five years working for various photographers as an assistant to hone your photographic skills and learn some of the "tricks of the trade" when shooing on location
3) start building your camera system along the way. Choose which system you want and then stick with it. Since your goal is to eventually work with National Geographic and other magazines, you will want to pick either Nikon or Canon as your system. They are the only systems which you can either rent special lenses and accessories or get them on loan from their professional services.
4) while in school attend local ASMP and NPPS chapter meetings in your area and when you can, join as a student member. This will give you access to working pros and get you started with your networking base.
5) find some small papers and magazines who will be willing to hire you on a per assignment basis and start building your tear-sheet portfolio.
6) spend a lot of time in the library looking at the images published by the magazines you are interested in shooting for.
7) look into working as a stringer with AP or Reuters.

Question: What is good photography summer camps for high school students? My daughter would love to go to a photography camp this summer. Anyone have any suggestions? Can take great pictures with our Nikon D60, but has never had any formal training.
Answer: It all depends on where you like. In Los Angeles, there's this school called FIDM. And 'primarily a school for fashion, but other subjects such as photography, music, interior decoration ect. They offer summer programs for high school kids, though, are very expensive. Scholarships are given to students who demonstrate incredible skills. :]
