Question: How do I get rid of the shadow my fisheye lens casts when using flash?

I have a fisheye lens and when I take a photo with the flash on I always get a shadow at the bottom of the picture. How can I get ride of the shadow?

Answer: Of course you will … think of it, the flash is being blocked by a lens that is taking a 180° photo of what is in front of the camera.

The widest flashes only cover 84° so even if the lens was not in the way of the flash, you would get some amazing vignetting.

For no shadow you have two options.

1) use a couple of external flash units on either side of your camera or
2) steady the camera on a tripod or something and do not use the flash, just the light that is present.

Question: What type of wide angle lens and flash should I buy if any?

Im a 17 year old Kid photography as my hobby and I need help. I have a standard lens Canon 75-300 telephoto lens and I Canon 18-55 IS, it is for my canon xsi. I'm a tight budget and I want to get a wide angle lens and a flash. Which should I get? you can view some photos zacharybarron.com

Answer: Unfortunately, the angle, a goal that would be large for your camera is not cheap. The Sigma 10-20,12-24, Canon or Tokina 12-24 10-22 are all between £ 320 and £ 450 here in the United Kingdom to guess, I would say min $ 450. If you want one, it will cost less to go second hand. A flash can be had cheaper, but I would advise the 430EXII as a minimum. It has enough features to keep useful, but not as expensive as the top of the range 580EXII. Any further down the line and you lose the ability to tilt and swivel is very important if you want to bounce flash, articulation is needed when shooting in portrait mode. 430EXII is about 200 pounds here, and again, as a guess, I'd say $ 250 – minimum $ 300 for you. These prices may have been a lot more than you expected, perhaps only one or the other will be feasible for you. A bonus is that the UWA lens or a flash of good will your last years. These two good additions to your kit.

Question: Best SLR camera/lens for photo student/avid traveler?

I’ve read a lot of debate about Nikon vs Canon, and I don’t know what’s best. I’m looking into grad school for photo, and I want a professional quality camera. I’ve read about the Rebels and D40, 50, 80 and all. I just do NOT know where to start! Any serious advice from knowledgeable people would be SO appreciated. Thank you!

ALSO, how much would it cost to repair a Canon AE-1? It’s got a problem where the film doesn’t get pulled all the way though, so I ended up with a roll of half-images.

Thanks!

Answer: The Nikon D90 is probably a good combination of quality, features, and cost. The Nikon D5000 lacks a few features and costs a bit less. It is lighter.

Answer: It may cost less to find a good used AE-1 instead of having one you have repaired. Before to buy something, spend much time watching the two systems of Nikon and Canon. What system you buy will depend ultimately some small things, all unique to your style of shooting and the subjects that you intend to go down and it is important to remember, whatever you choose today one you will use in the next few decades, unless you win the lottery and can afford to replace all unit components Photo and objectives you've been in the accumulation of the school and your first five to ten years as a pro job. Here is a list of things to consider before committing to one system or another * View camera system that has the menu more intuitive to use and is easier to change ISO, white balance, resolution, shooting mode and EV settings on the fly. * Take your memory card to camera store shot with each camera systems (entry level, pro-consumer, APS-C and FF Professional quality professional, whatever one you intend begin to use in school) to ISO highest and lowest in the manual and automatic white balance mode and using the lens focal length you intend to Buy * see which works best in your hands.
