Question: Shutter problem if I use the studio flashes?

When I left school photo studio, I noticed halfway through the use of frame is pure black if I use a shutter speed of 1 / 200 I use a Canon 10D camera to school. How can I fix it so I became a really fast shutter speed 1 / 000 can shoot?

Answer: You can not do the sync speed of 10D (and most others) 1/200th second is. You are in a bind. If your goal is to "freeze" action, will do the flash. If you use just off the studio flash units to work in the studio lights or on a low setting, you have no problem with ambient light interfere with your shots, I'm surprised that your teacher does not cover this in her presentation on the use of artificial light, especially in electronic flash
