Question: Tips for group photos (8 people or more)?
Indoors or outdoors... with light modifyers if needed (softbox for indoors, reflector for outdoors).
I know there isn't one camera setting that is best for every use... but some tips on camera settings would be great.Answer: What I like to due in a situation like this is arrange the group in multiple rows and shoot from below or above with a wide angle lens. I go for a good depth of field, say f 5.6 or 6, then set the shutter to compensate. The lens' optical distortion adds some visual interest. If I'm indoors, i just use my strobe and a bounce card to keep people from looking as though they are demonically possessed.

Question: Photo Portrait technical points needed as soon as possible.?It will be shooting a friend outside. She is very self-Conscious be a little on his nose 'great and, while this is true, I'd like to do a good job for her, this is not a concert .... simply paying a favor to her. I intend to shoot with 2 cameras. Using a 70-200 2.8 (and have a 1.4 extender if you will) and a kit with 18-135 Speedlite .... Can use the camera on or off Speedlite ....... Looking for some advice that will get flattering picture of her ... ..? Like the shot from an elevated position or ?????????????? If you can, Please keep it simple and nontechnical. There is particular focal length should I use? I am using Canon XSI T2i (small / crop sensor). I usually use a diffuser stofen on my 430, but they also have another pair of mini speakers softbox I could use. They also have a 50 1.8, only that they have not used very skeptical and a little 'attempts. Thanks
Answer: The more you're by yourself using the telephoto lens 70 - 200 mm is 'compress' the nose. There are two problems with this. One is the distance you are off increases the chances of camera shake, the other is that the flash needs to be closer, just out of reach. To hide the distinctive features you need to 'flat light' with little or no shade, not the usual work. A lighting technique that works well is 'Oyster' or light 'Butterfly'. I use two dishes for this beauty, but two soft-box or even a light and a reflector work. The idea is to place a light directly above and in front of your subject, directly under the other light (to fill the shadows), both approximately a 45 degree angle. This gives very flat lighting, beautiful skin, and is very flattering to your model, but all the details of the eyes are there, you can make eyes beautiful, with lovely 'Catch-lights'. Together with the 'compression' of the slow down will give you what (both) want. With your model to look closely at the lens hiding the nose completely, but you can try a 3 / 4 view with the model only looks to the side. With the nervous a technique that works well is to take a photos and a half second or so later, take another, people tend to relax when they hear the shutter button, the second is usually much more natural, but you can only do a couple of times, they soon catch on. They have an accessory shoe, not a hot shoe. I don't think they made a hot shoe model of this.

Question: Is there a Hot Shoe Flash for the camera?http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3460/3936520315_de7647893a_o.jpg I recently bought one these dudes off of ebay for about £ 2, but it really needs a flash, especially now that it's winter. Can anyone recommend one? Preferebly battery operated? thanks!
Answer: All the older flash units use a standard hot shoe with only two connections. This was because the camera and flash are not "speak" accept to trigger the light. They are still available in the camera shops. Most stores carry digital camera-specific flash, but you should be able to To find them, even on line, I would think.
