Question: How much time have you wasted studying photography and light?
Really you know its a total waste of time dont you? There are people buy a dslr and are professionals because they have a dslr.
You do know all that is needed to construct sets and set up and use studio flash units is a new dslr dont you?
Answer: I know. I know. All the time I spent. The thousands of dollars down the toilet. All my studio gear. For what? Nothing!
Thanks for posting this, and sending me into a downward spiral of depression. I believe I will go get a box of wine and some Rolaids, and get in bed.

Question: How is this light the picture will work?So I'm somewhat new to photography. How is this light going to work? Is it just plug / insert the batteries and ready? Answer: These are running lights. This means they are "on" when is compose the shot and the camera meter will recognize the correct exposure. Nothing special for you to make the camera is concerned. Note that the word "professional" is pulled back and in advertising. These can be decent enough for your purposes, but not what you would find if you took a photo studio.

Question: Canon Speedlite 430ex ii: what's the best diffuser to use with this flash?
i kind of like the cloud, cone shaped one..
Answer: Remember that diffusers don't make your light source any bigger (which is what creates softer shadows) - you need larger modifiers than that which will mean using the flash off camera.
All the 'cloud' does is turn your flash into a bare bulb source which sends light everywhere. it's fine for bouncing off walls/ceiling if you're indoors but does sod all outdoors where you have no surfaces to bounce from.
