Question: won a redecorating contest and need help please?!!?

i have a dark brown bed frame and a soft shade of light lime green for the duvet cover, and a matching bed skirt. then i have white and an even lighter green pillows. the walls are sort of beige. we have pink accents all around the room. we have an antique vintage mask that is wood too. BUT we just won a redecorating contest in this ocntest we entered. we can either change our room or the baby’s…. so i wanted to change ours or the baby’s. we have $5000 to spend. my little one’s room is pale pink and yellow. (its kylie my daughter and she’s turning 2) it has a white crib and like a small dresser and a changing station thing we got from costco. there are also some small butterfly accessories like a pillow, blanket, and wall border. there is a kind of tent/play pen thing where she has some books, ball, various toys. some one suggested i change her room.. so should i change hers or mine- and what to change and what to keep and what to buy with $5000.

Question: What is a tent used for photos?

Answer: No offense, but what are you thinking of buying, if you do not know what it used to? You may very well need it, but you may not know that if you do not know what it is. They are used primarily for product photography to create even illumination with minimal shadows. And 'the cheapest and easiest way to get this type of lighting for shooting non-persons. I saw a light curtain is used for still life too.

Question: Whats the best way to light up a product for a photo shoot?

I work for a small company and I have multiple light stands with two 500 watt lights, more for lighting an area than photo shoots. We have a white product with black background but the photos looked yellow. Taking off the protective grill was a good step, but there are also strange shadows that 1000 watts isn’t strong enough to fully remove.

Long question short, how do I whiten the picture or at least cheaply cover the lights with keeping in mind the lights are hot!!!

The yellow tint sounds like a white balance problem unless you’re using film. For indoor work your film should be tungsten balanced. Using daylight film indoors will result in color shifts to the yellow/orange range.

If using a digital camera check your WB settings – refer to your Owner’s Manual for directions. There is a product called an ExpoDisc (expoimaging.net) to set WB under mixed lighting conditions. It was reviewed in Shutterbug a couple of months ago.
