Question: Will Hoya 58mm UV (Ultra Violet) Multi Coated Glass Filter fit on my Canon 18-55mm Lens on Canon T1i?
I read several reviews that Hoya is best but I have a doubt (may be a silly question!) but will this filter Hoya 58mm UV (Ultra Violet) Multi Coated Glass Filter fit on my Canon T1i 18-55mm lens?
Answer: Yes. Your lens has a 58mm diameter thread on the front. However, there is no reason to use a UV filter on that lens. Digital cameras are not sensitive to UV light. I know some people will tell you to use UV filters for protection, but the fact of the matter is that you are using a cheap (as in not expensive to replace) plastic kit lens. Any knock hard enough to damage the UV filter will destroy that lens anyway. And if the knock was not hard enough to damage the filter, then it wouldn’t be hard enough to damage the lens in the first place. It makes very little sense to pay over $30 for a lens protector for a lens that you can replace for $90 used!
If you had a $1500 L series lens, then maybe you would want to spend money on a UV filter to protect it. Personally, I have some very expensive lenses and never use a UV filter unless I’m going to be around blowing sand or flying mud. I just use a lens hood and a wrist strap to prevent the camera and lens from being dropped.

Question: Differences between the camera lens filters? Can anyone tell me any difference between the filter to the camera lens? You can get one for like $ 7.00 to $ 50.00 that I have to spend $ 50 bucks? Here are two that I'm looking for my Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 as you guys think is better? 1. Hoya HMC Haze UV (0) – filter – UV – 67 mm 2. B & W 67 mm UV (Ultraviolet) Haze Multi Coated (2C) Glass Filter
Answer: Both filters are well reviewed by Amazon customers. When you choose a filter on an expensive cost, you are looking for construction details and quality optics. A child could filter might as well not to support or add some side effects to your photos.

Question: Which lens is best for concert photography?
I was wondering if a 50mm-135mm, 2.8 good for concert photography in a small venue. I’m shooting at Union Pool next week and I was told it is a very small space. Would this lens be good if I am standing close to the stage?
Answer: The fastest one you can afford. An F2.8 lens should be fine. If you think you will be really close to the stage a 50mm F1.4 or 85mm F1.8 would be better though there is no zoom. If you can I would go down to where the venue is and check the place out before the show.
If you can’t the 50-135mm F2.8 should do the trick. If it is F2.8 at both 50mm and 135mm. If it is a variable aperture zoom lens then it would probably be F5.6 at 135mm which would be basically useless.

Question: Should I use a 17-70mm lens for concerts with my Nikon D90 or continue to use a 50mm 1.4?Im usually right before of the stage can be the beginning of a 17-50 lens/18-50 Ive seen a Tamron and Sigma lens as 2.8
Answer: A primary objective will be almost always better in particular, the focal length of a zoom. The 50mm F1.4 is very fast, and usually that's a consideration for an event they do not control the lighting. What is the largest opening available with 17-70mm? Of course, it only takes a minute to change lenses, you can probably try a few shots with zoom in and see what appears.
