“Reality. What is real? Is a RAW image with 0 processing applied real? Black and white is a popular art form yet thats not a true representation of reality. Infrared is also very popular yet we don’t see in Infrared. Cross processing, lomo, exposure blending, etc all could be argued as portraying a false view of reality. But photography is more than just portraying a true view of reality. The camera itself lets you alter how you get the message across. A slow shutter speed with motion blur isn’t 100% true. An underexposed sunset isn’t 100% true. What I believe in is getting my vision across to people. This is how I see things. ……. Art is whatever you want it to be. I am a photographer though, and my world exists in a 35mm frame. At the end of the day all I want people to do is see what I saw and hopefully feel what I felt. Question: Will digital photography and lighting?

I recently had a professional photography to take pictures of my son. Used umbrella lights, background and stuff. I want to create something similar at home at low cost. I have a Nikon D 40 any ideas on what I need for this?

Answer: How cheap is cheap? Adorama and B & H have tons of lighting and fundamental things, but "cheap", starts at about $ 500 for the lights alone. If you have a separate flash, you can bounce off the wall and ceiling behind you to come close to the umbrella effect. You can buy a new SB600 for $ 220 and is on track.
