Question: Nikon D40 Protection – Shade, Film, or Armor?

Okay I want to protect my Nikon D40′s LCD from rain, scratches, smudges, and dust. Should I buy the protective film (fits right onto the LCD screen), the body armor (protects everything including lens and body), or a shade (fits onto the back of the D40 and allows use of buttons, yet has a shade hood that might get in the way of taking pictures).

If anyone has experience with any of these (or all of them), please give advice thanks!

Answer: I’d go with the LCD screen, as I use similar products on my cellphone, gps, and on all delicate glass surfaces.

The body armor adds bulk and makes the compact dslr clumbersome to hold and use.

The flip-up shade gets in the way, and breaks easily.

I shoot professionally, and have never seen a serious shooter on either side of me using the second or third product you’ve asked about.
