Question: Digital Camera Picture Colors Off Even With Manual White Balance?
Hello. I am taking pictures of some clothes, but I can't seem to get the correct color settings on my digital camera. I have tried inside and outside settings with auto and manual white balance (no flash in any of the pictures). The camera is a PowerShot SD100. What are some possible mistakes I am making and what are your tips for ensuring truer colors in digital photos?
Answer: You are dealing with a few issues that plague all fashion photographers
* depending upon the light sources you use, different pigments record differently on not only different brand sensors, but different models of the same brand.
* unless you are using a calibrated and profiled computer monitor, there is NO way to match colours.
* many times the only way to get all the colours in a fabric to match is to use a custom white balance. Here is how to assure a good custom white balance:

As you can see, this requires you to shoot in RAW and only very few P&S cameras have that capability.
Monitor calibration and profiling

As you can see, you also have to profile the printer as well.

Question: is it possible to mix the camera flash lamps with different light studio is what effect does it have?the colors of light, can you shoot the lights and the studio cameras at the same time to get a lighter out
Answer: It totally depends on the light. I have only a very basic studio kit and cheap. It is rather small and light it is warm enough / yellow. My beautiful Flash is much closer to the light of day, so if I use both at the same time, I have a conflict that is a real nuisance to deal post-treatment. I find it quite easy to correct a color cast in Photoshop, but when you have several different distributions in an image, it becomes much more difficult. Better quality studio lights will not have the same problems.

Question: Anybody know where I can find a clip-on accessory for hot shoe for a Rollei SL35 camera?
Answer: Try KEH.com
http://www.keh.com/OnLineStore/ProductList.aspx?Mode=searchproducts&item=0&ActivateTOC2=false&ID=&Size=&BC=&BCC=&CC=&CCC=&BCL=&GBC=&GCC=&KW=rollei%20sl35
They have an accessory shoe, not a hot shoe. I don't think they made a hot shoe model of this.

Question: Is there a Hot Shoe Flash for the camera?http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3460/3936520315_de7647893a_o.jpg I recently bought one these dudes off of ebay for about £ 2, but it really needs a flash, especially now that it's winter. Can anyone recommend one? Preferebly battery operated? thanks!
Answer: All the older flash units use a standard hot shoe with only two connections. This was because the camera and flash are not "speak" accept to trigger the light. They are still available in the camera shops. Most stores carry digital camera-specific flash, but you should be able to To find them, even on line, I would think.
