Question: what would you use for outdoor photography?

a beauty dish or a large soft box. and would you put a diffuser over the beauty dish? dont say use natural lighting… i want to experiment.

Answer: Beauty dish and no diffuser. Soft boxes for my money don’t travel well as they take up a lot of room or take a bit to get set up. I have a soft box that fits on my flash and I would probably pick that first over a large soft box just due to convenience. Being outside with any amount of light, I don’t think you’ll need to diffuse much if at all. Good Luck.

Question: Nikon SB800 flash light attachment to add?

I need to add a diffuser or soft box on my Nikon SB800 flash to eliminate harsh shadows or even light, can anyone advise? You help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Question: I have 2 lights, 1 on my ceiling (regular bulbs) and 1 Stand Light with the glass cover broken ? Fix?

How and Where do I buy the glass to cover the light bulb? 1 Glass cover broke on my ceiling and 1 free standing light also. Usually what is the cost for something like this?

Answer: Any place that sells lights would have globes. If it is a unique globe, you may have to go to a specialty light store. I have an old stand up light & had to get the new globe at a store that specializes in lighting fixtures.

Question: What are some good quality light stands that are relatively cheap?

I'm in the market for a couple of lightstands. Those who I just now came with my light, and are "ok" but I've never shopped for lightstands before. Does anyone have any suggestions of something like half the road? I do not need a light stand $ 300, but at the same time, I want something I can count on a lot of 'at least.

Answer: I recently studied (with the help of friends) this question. The stand in question was to be at least 6 feet tall, light enough to be transported over rough terrain, but sturdy enough to hold up to twenty (tied) and the travails of travel. I decided on the Manfrotto 5001B, $ 60 from Samy's in Los Angeles. I watched a lot 'going 20 to $ 100. I chose this because the legs to open up, allowing me to use the camera bag as a bag of sand. The hardware is well done, and will take a beating – In addition to participating each section of the stand, screw those little thingys (I honestly do not know what they are called) must hold the rope to strengthen its position against the wind. If you want to use in the study, some of these stands should last a lifetime if not seriously abuse them.
