Question: Do I need a UV Multi-Coated Glass Filter for a Nikon D80 digital SLR ?
I have heared that for digital SLR cameras, it is worthless to buy UV filters. Is that true ? I am looking in buying a Hoya 72mm Multi-Coated Glass Filter CLEAR, but also have the option to buy the same WITH UV filter for $20 more. So i guess my question is… are CCD sensors from Digital Camera sensitive to UV ? Thanks !
Answer: UV filters tend to clear up hazy horizons in landscape photography. A new modern filter will not hamper the CCD in any way. Both my digital fujis have them with no problems.
Only problem for SLR was that I needed a filter for every lens – more expense! So this time I didn’t worry about it for my D50
You have a D80???? I am jealous, they aren’t even released here in Australia yet! I want one!

Answer: Wow, Canon EX lenses! I have not seen any of these objectives over the years. 'm Just about putting the camera Canon EX and not fit on any other manual focus 35 mm organizations or any of the autofocus 35mm or digital cameras. Sorry. BTW, not to flash on one of the most recent Canon cameras o. The high voltage shoe could damage the electronics of the camera. It 'was a real common problem when the AE-1 camera was released in 1976 or 77. Bob K http://www.CameraRepairs.com
