Question: Does having a filthy air filter effect your electric bill?
I was wondering why my apartment wasn't cooling as much lately. I went to look at the filter, and it is SOLID with that grey lint dust bunny stuff! So bad, it is solid on the inside of the door that has the unit inside! I didn't realize it had been that long since I had changed the filter, and I realize I need them to bring my another one, but is that why it seems like my house hasn't been cooling really well? Because I have been running my AC WAY down, trying to get it to a somewhat comfortable setting, and it really never seems to cool off too much. Could that also be why my electric bill is $300 a month for my one bedroom apartment??? Thank you for all the help!
Answer: a/c isn't getting air. Has to work harder, use more power, get less result.

Question: dirt in the Blue pool filter?I have one of the easy set pool from Walmart, and stays very clean. The filters are Tho quickly because of a sticky substance on blue-gray paper filters. None of the blue chemials have additives which could be and what can I do respect?
Answer: I think it's just a combination of dirt and chemicals that filter, maybe some algae. You can squeeze more life of the filters with a hose to spray away with while still wet. Do not let it dry first or things will not go. They will not come completely clean, but clean enough to function as it should. And you can do this 3-4 times before having to replace them. Save lots of money, especially when filter is changed every week!

Question: could i add a piece of filter media from my cycled freshwater tank to my cycling nano reef to help?
would this help with the cycling? or would it not work at all?
Answer: will not help. Marie and freshwater bacteria completely different. you will just end up killing the freshwater bacteria when you place it in the salt water. Get some good quality live rock locally so there isn't a bunch of dead loss and you can have your tank up and running in a few weeks.
In a saltwater tank you want to avoid the nitrifying bacteria you try so hard to keep in a freshwater tank. Saltwater fish and invertebrates are sensitive to nitrates. You will want to have live rock and protein skimming as your main source to remove organic waste from the water. You remove before it can even become ammonia. No ammonia no need for nitrifying bacteria and no slow build up of nitrates.

Question: What is the best key oil filter on the market? Why is it when you try to change the oil on your car, the harder is to get the oil filter off? And why is it so difficult, I ask? Because the key freaking oil filter is crap. And I I tried several different kinds of key filter. But they all lead to frustration and bruised knuckles. So why is the most simplest of oil change, ironically to be the most difficult? I am sure he must be a tool on the market, which may be used on any Vechicle typed, with very little effort to get the oil filter to run. If there is, then where can I find?
Answer: Stop putting the filter on so tight. I have been fixing cars for a quarter century now, and if the filter has been installed correctly, you should not need a key to remove it. In my toolbox I keep several key oil filter, but those I use most are my pliers filter made by Blue Point and distributed by Snap-On.
