Question: Anyone know of a negative scanner that doesn't require a film tray for Spinner 360 long panoramic frames?

Every scanner I've found requires film trays which limit the length of each frame to traditional sizes as well as hiding the film sprockets (an exposed artistic element I'd like to keep)...

Answer: It looks like it uses a strip of film equal to 4 conventional frames. Um... that's roughly a 15cm long negative.

Yeah, the Epson V700 can handle that. So can the much cheaper V600 that I use.

The Epson V500 (recently discontinued?) is even cheaper and can almost handle that in one go. You'd have to scan the negative as 2 parts and stitch them together in Photoshop or so.
The V500 is just $150: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/496399-REG/Epson_B11B189011_Perfection_V500_Flatbed_Photo.html

The sprocket holes aren't a problem - these scanners are designed to handle medium format film which is much wider.

Epson scanners all come with their own software but I prefer the results I get with VueScan: http://www.hamrick.com/

Question: What is a negative scanner and how it works?

I've never heard of them, is what stores use to print your photos? Anyway I'm interested in it if you scan my negatives to my computer? Thanks guys.

Answer: Photographers professionals are used to convert the old film to digital. They can range from $ 100 U.S. for several thousand dollars. You can also find some scanners regular with a "transparency adapter" which will search for film negatives and slides. If you are not going to professional photography, I'd recommend one of them.

Question: I want to convert analog video to digital. I also want to convert negatives and slides to digital.?

What are the best converts? What is the best software to create "this is your life" videos? Thanks for your help.

Answer: Pinnacle (who I believe recently bought Dazzle) offers several products to connect a VCR or video camera to your computer via FireWire/USB and transfer footage for editing and burning to a DVD (or back out through FireWire/USB to a VCR). Below are some links, the first is to a grid of Pinnacle consumer products for transferring/editing, and the others are to Best Buy, where you can find these products locally. Most of these solutions include all the hardware and software you will need.

As for slides and negatives, it might be cheaper to purchase your own slide scanner than to send them out or bring them in to a photo center, depending on how many you wish to scan. I would call your local photo store and compare the cost to buying a scanner (http://www.bhphoto.com has decent prices; as an example, a Konica Minolta DiMAGE Scan Dual IV, 3200dpi, 35mm, Film Scanner for $229).

Question: Can you convert negative slides projected from a digital printing?

The guy who used to be used by teachers conference

Answer: Use a film scanner and covert digital image files .. then printing local laboratory ... or can simply be printed directly on paper in the darkroom
