Question: Have you ever tried AGFA’s Scala film?
I am thinking of getting a few rolls of Scala and trying it. I am also thinking of pushing it to 400 or 800. If you’ve ever tried it, could you tell me your thoughts. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/100350-REG/Agfa__Scala_200_120_Professional_Black.html
Answer: There was some scala 200x manufactured since ’98, which has put more of it out there on the net. You just have to look for it. You’ll find new batches with ’08 date codes, and B&H will sell it if they get it in stock. I bought some 36 exposure 35mm 200x from them in Dec. of last year (’08 exp dates), I’m not sure about 120 but I’m sure you can find some. It comes and goes, you just have to keep checking. FYI, it can be pushed out to 1600, it’s a very versatile film and fun to experiment with. It’s a pain to find, and I’ve only shot a few rolls, but it’s worth the trouble and cost to process, if you know what you’re doing with film. It’s a little too costly to experiment with as a beginner, IMO. You’ve got some real good ilford films you can try out at a cheaper cost if you’re a beginner to film. Also, there are more places in the “Americas” that develop scala film, maybe not for $10, but they do exist. Dr5, for example, I have used myself. $14 ain’t bad for a process that is all but totally dead nowadays. And, if you have a particular affinity for B&W slides, dr5 will cross process most non-C41 B&W print film into slides. I have had some Ilford FP4 made into slides from dr5, and they also do sephia toning as well. To be honest, it’s a lot more fun to shoot standard B&W like slides with more exposure latitude than scala. Just something for you to think about. Good luck.

Question: Have I Ruined My movie 120? : (?I never used 35mm, and recently bought some 120 film for my 'Isolette Agfa's new "III. When putting the film in the camera, I could not get entangled. The camera is quite old, so I think it's more of a decorative piece! I was in moderate light, and I rolled the film back on the roll and put it back in its box without the foil wrapper. Is it ruined, or am I able to save him?
Answer: It depends how much of the movie you unwound. If it was just a little there should be no problem. To ensure that no light strikes the film in the area of the wrap in aluminum cooking. The Isolette III should be fairly easy to load anyway. There should be an outlet coil winding on the right side of the camera (rear view). In the absence of film loaded open the camera back and see if the coil turns wound with the winding knob. Perhaps the winding knob is not fully engaged with the receiving coil. When the coil turns empty with the winding knob just load the film on the left side of the camera and insert the beginning of the film in the slot of the receiving coil. Turn the winding with the back open a little longer to see if she carries the film. If it closes at the back and wind up on that "1" appears in the red box. You can download a manual for Isolette II here: http://www.butkus.org/chinon/agfa/agfa_isolette_ii/agfa_isolette_ii.htm The Isolette II is basically the same device that Isolette III – loading if the procedure is the same. Make sure the button coil is completely down or it will not engage with the coil. Hope it helps.

Question: Is it possible to put video from a digital camcorder?(it uses a digital video tape) on a file on the computer? And is the only way to put a home-video DVD on the computer is to use DVD Shrink?
Answer: There are many programs (most often the one included with camcorder) that all you have to do is connect your camcorder your computer with the supplied cable (usually USB) and through the program, you can access your camcorder, then read your movie while your computer picks up the film. These programs are (usually) let you edit your movies once they are downloaded so. Personally I use Windows Movie Maker, and is a decent job for me. Good luck.
