Question: What sort of Metal is the frame of a collapsible photo reflector made from?

I am experimenting with a new concept for a light fitting, and like the idea of a collapsible photo reflector. Does anyone know what the frame is made from? it will spring back into place after unfolding. Is it some type of metal or some sort of fibreglass or plastic?

Answer: I have one, but (obviously) it’s sealed, or rather, sewn in from view.

It reminds me of a saw blade. Not as thick as one that is used to cut wood–but it snaps back into shape even if you bend them into different shape.

Question: maybe an av to firewire cable?

Okay, so. i have two camcorders. one is a panasonic (model pv-g539). the other is extremely old. (sony ccd-trv58).
i have an accessible laptop with (4-circuit alpha) fire wire. my panasonic uploads through this just peachy. but my dirt old camera with footage i desperately need isn’t equipped. i need to know what kind of adapter, cord, thingy, what ever it is i need, to get the sony camera up loadable to my laptop. i’m kinda an idiot when it comes to electronics.. i just like the filming part, so braking it down to simple terms would be nice. PLEASE HELP! i’m quite desperate, any kind of help is deeply appreciated.

Answer: The Sony CCD-TRV58 is an analog, Hi8 tape based, camcorder.

On the Panny, I presume you mean the PV-GS59… It does not do AV-in or AV-passthrough so while it is appreciated that you provided this info, the only thing useful is that we know you are using a working firewire port on your laptop.

Since your laptop has a working firewire/IEEE1394a/DV/i.LINK port it would be best to import the analog video from the CCD-TRV58 using a firewire based analog/digital converter. The Canopus ADVC55 is probably the right thing to use. Basically, you connect the TRV58 AV cables to the A/D converter. The A/D converter connects to the computer’s firewire port, launch the video editor, start capturing video in the editor, press play on the analog camcorder…

Question: Where can I get a replacement UK power cord for Sony Alpha battery charger?

I have a Sony Alpha A200 DSLR camera and I lost myself in some way the power cord that goes into the battery charger. I have only managed to find a replacement charger units on ebay, which is not on cable, I need something contain. Or a complete double-charger from Sony, far more than £ 100! Anyone got any ideas? Here is a picture of where the cable goes into the charger. http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m200/skyygk / R0011683.jpg? t = 1201108669 Also, the device has this number on it. BC-VM10

Answer: Not ideal, but believe a complete unit by Amazon is much cheaper than direct from Sony, £ 24, including the power cord. Alternatively http://www.amazon.co.uk/Genuine-BC-VM10-charger-FM55H-Battery/dp/B0013XWXY4 You can search for a "polarized IEC320 C7" power cord. I am not very lucky in finding a UK outlet.
