Question: Is there a program that can change the backdrop for a photo?

I’m not an expert on this so i need something cheap and effective. I love taking pictures of my baby, but going to a studio all the time is TOO Expensive. I take a lot of picture at home, but i would like to print them out with a nice “proffesional looking” background/backdrop. Any program out there that can help me do is? anything i can download for free? Any suggestions?

Answer: These are all free with no spy ware. I use them and they are great programs. start with the Pixia and learn from the help file how to cut, copy and paste and use layers. If you have any questions feel free to email me.

Question: gel and flash applications for the shooters study.?

I just got a light 3 for my study (all Vivitar 285HVs) and so I main fill, and 3 for the backlight on the wall of my white vinyl. My question is this. Gelation, when the flash, I just set the flash aimed at wide angle and background or put an umbrella reflector and bounce for the background, or does not matter, because it is only a background of light? Thought direct flash will cause a hotspot, wide angle or not. O .. hanging from the ceiling, bounce for the background, so that the color black has white vinyl flooring as well? (10'wide wall cyc +9' up along 18 ') I'm starting to think about the ceiling, me, I hope to get the full set of colored vinyl. My comment would be the shot from the ceiling so the light would bounce gelled from the wall on the first floor, instead of the wall then to the side.

Answer: This is not the best answer, but get "The Hot Shoe Diaries "by Joe McNally. He has some pages of information on how to use gel. Amazon and many other places have the book. It 'a great book, especially if you use equipment Nikon.
