Question: Why are eyecups needed?
What IS the point of an eyecup on a camera?
When I bought my Nikon d5000, I got two eyecups.
One that was already attached to the camera, a rubber one. And the other one was plastic.
The small eyecup thing on this picture:http://hothardware.com/articleimages/Item1411/Nikon-D5000-box-4534.jpg
What's the point of different eyecups?
Answer: What appears in the picture—the contents of the standard D5000 kit—is not an eye cup, but an eye cap. The eye cap is a windowless black plastic cover that replaces the Rubber Eye Cup on the body. The purpose of the eye cap is to prevent light from seeping into the mirror box through the viewfinder window. Stray light has the ability to effect metering and can possibly affect the contrast of your pictures if it's strong enough. This is especially important when you're shooting off-camera (i.e. remote, tether, self timer, intervalometer, etc. shooting). Alternatively, it can be useful in protecting the viewfinder window in storage.
Aftermarket eye cups do exist and they come in different shapes and sizes. It's all a matter of comfort and utility. Some are better at bridging the eye to the viewfinder than others. There are also eye cup with magnifiers or diopters too, though these can fit into their own individual categories.

Question: Nikon DK-3 eyecup? How the hell does this song installing it on my FM2? I am completely and totally lost, I tried "everything"
Answer: Remove the turn by twisting Nikon eyepiece. Scroll through the DK-3 according to the slots on the sides of the viewer FM2. Reinstall the eye turn to ensure the DK-3. I'm at work now, but I check on my FM and FE when I come home to double-check.

I'm also wondering...why does your question say pros and cons but the detailed one have nothing to do with it?Well, i'll answer both questions anyway
.
The nikon D40 is a great beginner DSLR, which takes great pictures, costs so little, and is just the best thing for a beginner.
Pros : In the camera, there is an "INFO" display, which tells you what each setting will do.
-Big and Bright LCD
- Quick autofocus.CONS: - Doesn't have as many "extra" features as some other entry-level DSLRS
- Works only with AF-S and AF-I lenses.ACCESORIES.
Some recommended things to buy would include..
-A bag to carry this baby 'round
-(You need this...) A Memory Card, around 2-8 GB
-Possibly another lens (any kind you like)I have another recommendation for you. Get the D40. This author (Kenrockwell.com) explains why. Generally, its 200$ cheaper, and 6 MP is still plenty enough.
Here's the site, http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d40x.htm read the intro. He compares the D40 to the D40x.Good luck!

I think, should I use the one with two lenses or go?
Answer: Since the D80 has been set you may want to look at the Nikon D90. The D90 offers video capability and can be found at http://www.bhphotovideo.com 1,159.95 USD for a 18-105mm VR lens. If you choose to stay with the D80, in my opinion, the two lens kit is the better deal - if it comes with all that it should be. Per website Nikon D80 package include the following: EN-EL3e Rechargeable L-Ion Battery MH-18a quick charger UC-E4 USB Cable EG-D2 A / V Cable Body Cap BM-7 LCD Cover Shoulder Strap DK-5 Eyepiece DK-21 Rubber Eyecup Shield Accessory Shoe Cover Software CD ROM (Driver Picture Perfect) User Guide 1 year USA Limited Warranty
