Answer: I personally think its a decent deal… I wouldn’t worry too much about it being older. I have a 6mp Pentax that I still love the picture quality from. I was majoring in photography several years ago, and work in a professional photo lab and put the picture quality of my 6mp over most of the 10+ mp cameras I see. Anything over 5mp for the most part is overkill. I think you did good by getting something inexpensive to learn and as you feel you need the features of the newer (more expensive) cameras you can upgrade. I would look at getting good lenses for your camera, and plan to build a “system”, so if you do decide to upgrade you already have nice lenses for it. Remember the most important part for capturing an image is the glass.
