Question: I need help to get a video from my digital camera to Windows Movie Maker?

The camera is a mini-DV (premium sony digital video cassette), a Panasonic, a fully charged lithium ion battery pack. I connected a USB cable to your computer, but everything that has happened is the first time in a bubble popped (lower right corner of the screen by hand) saying something had been connected to the USB port and was ready for use. Clicking the call did nothing. Then I ran a search for new hardware to install and the computer could not detect any new hardware. Now I have no idea what to do. Several people told me that I probably need to download some software to get the video off. Other people told me that most cameras can open only with Windows. Help? Model Number: PV-GS35

Answer: The USB port is usually for still images or low resolution video. To obtain the video complete by the camera may need a FireWire (IEEE-1394 I think). Where does your system have a part we are pretty cheap add-in cards that provide one. The camera has come with some software to download the video. Windows Movie Maker has an option to purchase. Can you provide the model number of your machine Photo?

Question: Why do Toshiba take two weeks to supply a new motherboard for my laptop?

I have a Toshiba Satellite M60 which I bought about 15 months ago. It had a new mother board in December because every time it shut down I got a Blue WIndows screen. Recently it not powering up properly and I took it back to the dealer (who also repairs Toshibas). They told me it would take two weeks to get a replacement mother board and they cannot work out why the battery is no longer charging. Since I need a computer for my work I am effectively not working for two weeks – what can I do?

Answer: Because the motherboard is most likely imported from overseas. There are several reasons why your battery isn’t charging. It’s dead. Your charger is broken. The interface between where you plug in the charger and the battery is broken meaning the motherboard will have to be replaced.

Question: Need for replacement batteries for cordless phone – change from 800 to 600 mAh okay?

I have two older phones wireless, battery almost dead (I can speak three or four minutes, tops). It is a GE, the other a Uniden. When I look for replacements of the models, follow me giving Duracell or Energizer batteries number who say the phones fit. But the batteries that came with the phones are 3.6 V, 800 mAh. Replacements are 3.6V, but only 600 MVA. This is both the GE and Uniden – different spare batteries, but the same problem. Is this a problem? Does that mean that it is weaker (Certainly not a battery cheaper!) Please help educate me on this, I do not want to lose $ 15 or $ 20 at the battery, bad phone either.

Answer: It simply means that the new batteries are rated not last as long as the originals between recharges. It might actually last, but are qualified and did not last long. EBay is the best option to buy batteries.
