Question: Photoshop Digital Backgrounds – Where I can find Photoshop Digital Backgrounds Professional Quality?

Everywhere I look I see a lot free digital funds, but their quality in the "real world" leaves much to be desired. Funds are a powerful part of digital photography, but I really need some funds high level and backdrops to get my photos look great. Where I can find them? Any suggestions?

Answer: One of the best I know (from experience) is a site called 'Ultimate Backdrops. It has a large collection of digital backgrounds in Photoshop with personalization effects cool feature. They also reveal how to get those same effects in Photoshop / Gimp tutorials through video, which becomes an option value.

Question: How do you get a black background?

I bought a kit that had a black and a white muslin background and the stand for them. I am wondering what the best way is to get a completely black background. Like what kind of lighting i need to buy and where to position it etc.I will mostly be taking pictures of my kids to begin with until i get the hang of it and eventually would like to make some money doing it.
I am using a Nikon D40 which i would eventually like to upgrade.

Answer: Just make sure that none of your artificial lighting strikes the black background.

Placing the subject about four feet away from the background and lighting from the side (about 45 degrees to the subject) will assure that the black background stays black. Of course you will have to shoot in the evening so no sunlight sneaks into your “studio” and with the rest of the lights in the room subdued so they do not put light on your black background.

And yes … in a few years when you are ready to buy a new body, something like the new D90 will be affordable … for now, you have an amazing camera for the money … it is even better than the old Nikon sub-$1000 D70.
