Question: Cheapo way of doing digital backdrops (chroma key)?

I was thinking of buying a green shower courtain (of course one that isn’t shiny or reflective) to do digital backdrops, my question is… do yall think this will work? what other cheap stuff can one buy to do chroma keying? I just want to experiment here at home! with photos!

Answer: I bought “chroma key” colored green material I found at my fabric store. I think I paid $1.50 a yard for it and got 3 yards. Since I do not do any large groups the 60″ fabric width was plenty wide enough. I bought a $15 6′ tall garment rack from Wal-Mart and sewed the material like a pillowcase to fit over the rack. I works perfectly for what I do and is portable and non-permanent. Since then I have bought some blue “Chroma Key type” material and cheap fabric in various patterns for backdrops and sewed them in the same way for quick changes. Makes what I do much easier. and it takes up very little space.

Question: questions on green screen …..? photo

I want to be able to take photos and then add a background to their computer. Even doing things as: * Put a kid in a flower * Add props Digital My question is ….. * I need a green screen software or I could just use my photoshop * How does not exactly remove the green screen (if you use photoshop you can just use the Magic Eraser?) * I found the green screen background, but could not find a green leaf as something for the floor (to sit or stand up) * There is a good digital frame and underpinnings website to buy cd is out (what I found seems a bit 'of cheese)

Answer: Good question! You can use any color you like (blue is common), provided that contrasts with the subject. Even so then you are going to need Photoshop to put out your image. The advantage of a contrasting color is that you can use channel-based selections using tools like the magic wand that will give you speed if not the accuracy (usually a compromise). There are various proprietary software packages knock-out on the market – would some research to see what suits you … will probably be a good investment if you are thinking about a lot 'of this type of work.

i dropped my digital camera on my black laptop and it left a silver line. how do you get rid of it?

Answer: If the silver line is on the OUTSIDE of the laptop (the housing), then I would see if some type of cleaner would work (like SoftScrub — something gentle but strong) and I’d maybe try it on the BOTTOM of the laptop first — where there is no vents etc).

If it’s on your screen… I’d try screen cleaners or a screen surface repair kit — but be VERY careful!! If you start rubbing too hard, you’re going to create much bigger issues than a silver line!!

Question: Make a silver print from a digital image …..?

So my teacher told me about this product you can connect to your computer and use a digital image and make a silver print of this situation. It's like a magnifier Mini I think. Someone knows more about it and how I can find one?

Answer: All Lightjet / Frontier or a printer equivalent can be done, and there are high-end laboratories that are equipped to make a real B & W silver gelatin. Basically, a Lightjet uses LEDs or lasers to print on real photo paper from a digital file, which is then developed using products chemicals, like printing on an enlarger. The boundaries used in minilabs Fuji pharmacy use this technology, like most other laboratories do not print on an enlarger. A & I in Hollywood, will do it on fiber paper, but you pay a premium to about $ 50 for an 8×10. Unfortunately Lightjet printers start at around $ 40,000 on the spot, then it is probably not something that is possible for an individual to possess.
