Answer: In terms of performance, you will find any number of brands that will give you similar performance, but what will be lacking is that the SB600 is part of the Nikon Creative Lighting System. You probably won’t find a third party flash that communicates with your camera the way the SB600 does. By going outside the Nikon Creative Lighting System you lose most of the automatic functions available for the SB600.

I walk a Sunpak with my Nikon D80, and really a diffuser. The problem is, I do not know know to buy the diffuser. Are there certain values that go with each flash? If so, where would they recommend to buy? Thanks in advance!
