Question: Should I buy a Canon 5D Mark 2?

I want to buy a Canon EOS 5d Mark 2 as a primary camera to shoot video with detail and DOF, but the camera only shoots 30fps not 25. I live in a PAL region and if I film indoors will I notice problems with lighting flicker etc? what other problems could I face and do you think the camera is worth buying considering these? For the price should I buy a decent Camcorder and a Letus DOF adapter instead?

If you are that good then why don’t you use a Video camera, it will blow the pants off any stills camera, (only if you use the right format) all this highly compressed video is ok for home use, if you want to produce high quality video, you need to get the tools, the camera is fantastic for stills, but for video its only so so. Simply its not designed for it. like camcorders are designed for video some can create fantastic video but for taking stills they are not that good.

Mov files are compressed, about 50% of a avi file, as the Avi is compressed to a degree, it cannot be said that a mov file is not compressed. so where does that 50% go? 90 mins of uncompresses video is about equal to 118GB, a bit too big for most of us.

I lost the charger camera for a trip and the ting is practically useless now … I went to Best Buy & Frys and both stores told me that I had to buy through the store Online Canon. Answer: It looks like a normal charger for me – go to a small electronics store where they know what they're doing. It 'important that you get a charger with the right voltage and polarity, so take your camera with you.
