Question: How can I get my Linksys wireless router, wrt54g V5, the power light to stop blinking AND get it working again

My internet provider had issues the other day and my area lost internet connection for awhile. Now my wireless router (for my roommates laptop) is not working. I can connect to the internet just find directly into the modem. I can’t through the router, and I can’t connect to the router. I tried changing my pc to a static ip and do it that way, (according to the Linksys website) I’ve power cycled everything. I plugged them back in, in order. (Modem, Router, then pc) still nothing. I’ve tried resetting the router. Am I missing anything? Or is this thing DEAD. The stupid power light keeps flashing, but I can’t connect to router to try and install firmware. PLEASE HELP!
THANK YOU :) :):):)

Answer: try unplugging it for at least 10 seconds,, then try it.. then see if you can log into the router.. it would be an address like http:/192.168.0.1 (you will probably have to check the manual) If you are on DSL you might need to put your user name and password into the router again too.

Question: Should I get a Canon flash for my Digital Rebel XTi, or will other brands do?

I am on the market for a flash for my Canon Digital Rebel XTi. As I searched… I found a few that are much cheaper than the canon brand, but there weren’t any reviews associated with them.

Should I stick with the canon brand?
Can someone help?

Thanks!

Answer: I would stick with Canon Speedlites. They are made to take every advantage of the ETTL system on the Canon units. The 3rd Party were not. Plus if you do fry your camera with a 3rd party unit, your pretty much scerwed, Canon will not fix it under warriety if you put a 3rd party unit on it.

I would get teh 430EX from Canon. Its the most balanced unit that goes on the XTi and its more than enough for most situations.

Question: How can I reduce the power output of my Canon 450D flash?

I've been searching the internet for the answer this question, none has been helpful. I have a Canon 450D and an external flash with a slave function. As I am aware, you can trigger that the external flash via the flash. However, when I use it, the picture is really washed out. How can I reduce the flash output integrated? I have a friend who uses a Nikon and its high-power flash can be changed

Answer: I do not think that you can change this setting, except perhaps what is called "fill flash" and that only works if you have a light source external as daylight. Just save. I use slave all the time – I have two of them and the balance left and right and they are triggered by my integrated system works very well. There is a little trick that may help you too. Use your camera on the "red eye". I find my pictures come out very dark, without red eyes – do not ask, I do not know. Wash out is usually because you stand too close. Experience in a room as I do. Establish a connection, I use a globe, and pull with your slave. Try different distance is 8 feet, then 10 feet and so on. Continue until you find a suitable distance and use that for your next shoot. After experimenting I always keep those shots with notes on what I did for future reference. Good Luck
