First up, let"s start by searching Ebay for Teleconverter Sony Alpha:
Question: I want a 2x teleconverter for my Sony Alpha A350, but should i buy the more expensive one?
there are smaller japanese makes which are alot cheaper, but are they as good, im sure the more expensive - £200-300 is much better for clarity and quality, but is there really much difference?
thanks.Answer: As long as the lenses you wan to use with it are compatible. Usually only lenses longer than 200 mm and have apertures wider than f/5.6 will work with such converters. It would be a shame to spend £200-300 for something you cannot use in the end.
The differences between OEM teleconverters and generics will show up in edge sharpness and colour aberrations some of the generic ones can even induce lens flare. There should also be a list of lenses that cannot auto-focus using the teleconverter
Just do your research before you spend a penny and you should end up with what you need

Question: Should I a 2x tele-converter or a bigger lens?Do you have an Alpha A350 with 55-200 telephoto lens right now. Would it better to get a larger lens, or just go with the tele converter from Sony? It's pretty good glass. This lens works fine for the professional, what I do, I just do not want shots of things I can to facilitate closer. Of that I can say I have the lens now has a 35x zoom, how much closer would be a 300-GET ME? or should I just save up for a 400 or 500? Kind of new to Slr Cameras.
Answer: Whoa, my bullshit detector just went crazy after reading your details further. "This lens uses a" punishment for what I did for a living - if you have pictures under professional then you should know all the questions you ask and you certainly would not be talking 35x Zoom! That aside. If you can afford it then a new lens the quality will be better than using a converter, in particular with a transducer to a zoom. If you can not afford it then you can use the translator and live with the lower Light and low quality.
