Question: Does the PCM trigger a code if sensors go bad? Or does it just tell you when readings are out of range?
Symptoms include hesitating, backfire,rough idle. code reader give me high fuel pressure,low fuel pressure,air leak,faulty spark plugs. I replace fuel pump, plugs and wires, coil ignition,cap and rotor. no water in tank. I'm down to idle adjust solenoid,IAT sensor,map sensor. restarting vehicle will let me run again for about a mile or two before symptoms return.
Answer: Well in theory yes especially if newer vehicles thats one reason they've some many comps in the new vehicles and sensors too.But I can say this much if the codes keep returning and you've truly replaced these parts right , then either the ECM read false readings or the codes are so close that even the ECM doesn't clearly know what part is really malfunctioning.
Plus ever since comps have been used in vehicles theres been codes indicating one part but actually it was something else causing the fault or it's 5 codes and only one is the right code.
Heres a good example my car read code 45 and that according to the service book means the tranny went into a limp mode , meaning according to transmission experts that means the solenoid pack in the transmission wasn't recieving power from the TCM.so the transmission uses its emergency gears to operate until you can get to the proper repair experts.
So by that info most would say your solenoid pack is gone or the TCM but in fact it wasn't that at all it was the main com=ECM.
Comps in cars are tricky and you'd not want to own a big rig with these comps in them either. I know one trucker it's a brand new rig and had problems , the manufacture has changed many comps in it and it still has problems with the electronics.Every expert has looked at it under warranty and no one yet can fix it.
I would suggest that your ECM is faulty or that it's got some bad grounds , or the part that's really causing all these things to go is still faulty and related to the parts you replaced already.So look at the items you've replaced and try to figure out what is at the top of the pole so to speak.
No1 is the ECM bec it controls supposely everything or at least over seas thier operations and functions ,No2 the one thing besides that wich links everything together the ground, the ground that links the comps together or grounds could have a fault so look for flat unshielded wires those are the main grounds for the comps.No3 could be the part that is at the top of the parts you've replaced and to me if it's not some kind of bad ground or short , it might be a bad connection inside the ECM.No5 there should be a gas pressure valve of some sort but again you're cars problems sound suspiciouslly related to the comp.No6 could be a sensor but the problems you've mentioned are detected by different things and sensors , plus one sensor could be causing this to occur but i doubt it.

Question: Why should Sensor pump handle to solve its gas-a "full" and turned off when I just starting to pump!?As you know, most of the pump handles at petrol stations will "snap off" when you pump the gas reaches the nozzle of the pump. This is for you from filling encroach too much gas and thereby avoid all the place. That's great, but recently, several gas stations, I find that this sensor trips constantly I pump. Even if I just started to pump and the gas tank itself is almost empty. How can that be? What would be that the sensor is triggered inappropriate thing? I would like to add a clarifying details on this issue. I have started the car for 4 years now in the possession of this problem, only three or so fillups ago. Why should this suddenly begin * - at several stations (I have by clicking on various experiments). Thank you for all the replies much so!
Answer: The fuel tank vent can be connected to your or pinched fuel caused the back splash and the trigger of the nozzle to the filler neck Shut off. This is a very common problem with several ambulances and cab / chassis body kits, because the filler is headed for re-install the body and no longer has enough slope or angle to travel freely for the fuel to the tank without safety through the filling tube.
