Question: Will crossed wires cause my wireless garage remote to not work?
My dog pulled a wire loose that runs from the wall to the garage door sensor. My friend reconnected them; however, I think he crossed them because I now have to hold the button on the wall to close the door and my wireless remote does not work at all. Is it possible the wires are just crossed?
Answer: If your safety beams are inoperative the remotes will only open the door, not close it and the wall button will only work as described.

Q: anyone familiar with a wireless remote for Nikon D60?I bought an ML-L3 remote control to use with my camera, Follow the instructions in the camera manual, and for the life of me I can not get it to work! Does anyone know how to set it?
Answer: I think you need to turn the camera to know you are going to choose remote. is a feature saves battery life. I think going to the AF button or is a button to the right by shooting distance.

Question: Can I put a 75w light bulb into a fitting that says max 60w?
I have two new hanging lanterns and it says max 60w bulb. It doesn't look very bright and I have found (on the net for £7.50 each) a 75w halogen bulb with the same SES E14 fitting. The lights are on dimmer switches. Does anyone know if they are likely to work properly or overheat.
Answer: it's not a good idea but it will work. The wattage maximum is based on bulb heat and current pull. The higher the output the more amperage it draws which pulls more amps through the wires which will also heat up. Consumer electronics is built to have a high tolerance. They don't expect you to actually pay attention to the 60w max. It's there more for legal reasons. If you home burns down because it starts a fire, you were warned. Given the tolerances, I'd say go for it. I've used them for years without problems.

Question: Superior watt bulb in a lower-watt outlet?If you put a 250 watt bulb infrared heat lamp into an outlet recommended a maximum of 60 watts, what would happen?
Answer: It depends on what the outlet is rated for 60 watts. The two main reasons are: (1) The device is not qualified for the head produced by a 250 watt bulb. In this case, an infrared heat lamp - as its name indicates - generates more heat than other light bulb 250 watts and 190 watts above the limit. This is very, very bad. (2) Wires from the device is classified only 0.5 amp (60 watts RMS to 120 volts RMS). A 250-watt bulb will pull 2 amps RMS, which could cause the cable to heat up and catch fire. This is also very, very bad. The basic rule: do not. Now you know why.
